Our booking was canceled by phone 2 weeks before we would go there. The hotel en Spa are closed. It is a shelter for asylum seekers. So it is a noble thing to do, but is a pity that the cancelation is at a short notice.
Hotel is dated and facilities are at end of life. Our bathroom was smelly. Basic expectation , hairdryer, coffee maker, small bottle of water, are not provided. Old hotel which has lost its glory. Some rooms would not fulfil current safety standards. People are friendly.
Old building with lots of stairs and wings. Elevator age-old with dinosaur-like buttons. Rooms formally renovated but that must have been long ago; e.g. our bathroom had a shower floor that flooded within minutes, and a tub with dinosaur-like jacuzzi remote control that generally only started working when the tub was emptied. Also bad towel service (only bath towels and tiny hand ones, no proper towel near the sink). Breakfast okay for 3-star. Nice pool and sauna area. Nice dinner at their sister hotel 700 away, friendly service. We had a junior suite and it was more or less worth the price difference with a standard room, except that tea & coffee making would be expected for a suit. Saw the standard rooms and these were definitely NOT worth the offered price of around 115 euro BB during the weekend (half of that weekdays); most 3- and 4-stars in the area charge around 90 euro BB and that would be the value of a Paping room too. So only book it if the price matches what it's worth...…
Nice hotel & restaurant with friendly service. Good dinners. Terrace is lovely but lots of traffic during weekdays. Here also we see post covid: everything has to get started again. That’s why I give it a 4rating Ona five scale. In weekends it’s a quiet place and good for a weekend trip
It is a very nice and friendly hotel. The location is good nearby to the train station and downtown. The hotel is very calm and perfectly clean. For the warm summer days it will be a advantage if they have a air-conditioned in the rooms but all of them have windows. No big drama. The breakfast is very simple. I went there already 2 times for a one night stay and it's a very good option in that area. Very close to TT Circuit Assen 😉
Second stay and had a great time bed comfortable and bedroom large and designed in natural wood staff very helpful and nice breakfast it. Sadly didn’t get a chance of using the spa but looked impressive we were on motorbikes and they let us secure them on one of their garages which was great
An enjoyable and nice place to stay. We stayed in 'the wing' with quite modern (natural materials like wood) decorated room. Unfortunately no art, however spacious with nice shower and bath facilities. A nice spa, whereby the pool and the infra red sauna are included in the price of the stay. We also enjoyed the beds!
A familiar nice hotel, all the rooms are renovated, good bar and excellent food. The price is very low for the service you get. In the hotel is a Wellnes facility with swimming pool, several sauna's and whirlpools
I have now visited the Hotel Papping three times and I have to say I like it more and more every time. To sit by the window over a leisurely breakfast, or later a sumptuous dinner is something to look forward to. So is curling up under a rug beside the fireplace, with a glass of wine. Rooms are bright, beds are comfy. If I had any complaint at all it would only be that the "clothed" hours at the pool are so few. Perhaps it might be an idea to switch them so that the nudists could enjoy the mornings, while the rest of us can splash around at night. They do, after all, have the option of the back garden and the privacy it holds. As for the staff I cannot say too much: wonderfully friendly people who really do go all out to make one feel at home - in any language.
Ommen has a broad set of accommodations available of which this hotel is one of the most pleasant. Not as expensive as some others but quite satisfactory. We booked the simplest room and ended up in a fairly small room which all the needed amenities. The only drawback was the absence of airco. It was pretty hot when we visited Ommen but opening a window for some coolness was not advisable as our room was directly located near the busy road and the railway. With the window closed the sound of the traffic was in no way disturbing. Added value was the quality and the variety of the food served during dinner for a reasonable price. The breakfast was also quite good but given our need of food in the morning there was no way to compensate for the hefy 12,50 Euro pp. Maybe one could arrange that you can also take your lunch away from the breakfast glut. This is something that was offered by other hotels during our trip.…
