This is a little gem. We had a very friendly welcome and we were really impressed with the rooms (we had a super king size bed) with a lovely bathroom (room 1). Everything was immaculately clean and we couldn't fault it. The Inn downstairs serves delicious, really good value, food and the staff are brilliant. We had the home made...

Could not have been better. Friendly welcome. Comfortable room and en-suite. Selection of draught beers and a draught cider! Good value menu backed up by extensive specials board. Great breakfast. What more could we want?

We organised a Family Sunday Lunch in May. Helen and her staff were extremely helpful and flexible. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent in a pub with a lovely atmosphere. We can thoroughly recommend this place for a meal.

I visited the Saxon Inn with my family on 01.05.17. We were sat by the bar. The pub was lovey. I'm a waiter myself and I was so impressed with how attentive, polite and friendly Jill was. Jill was working so hard, yet staying composed and professional. She's a great asset.

We stayed for 2 nights, and were made most welcome by Helen and Peter. Rooms were lovely, breakfast was great and we will definitely return to visit more of Dorset from this location. We visited the Tank museum, Hoddesdon Hill and Clouds Hill, but have plenty more on the list. The Saxon Inn is in a great Central location for...

As the "birthday girl" a family lunch was arranged here for me on Sunday. I must say the welcome was brilliant, and they could not do enough for us. The service was excellent, with plenty of choice in addition to Sunday roasts. With a group of 11 there were many different selections taken from the menu and all were presented...

We called in on a Sunday morning in the run up to lunchtime. All we wanted was a bowl of soup before scaling nearby Hambledon Hill. The soup was excellent and the reception we received very friendly given the very busy conditions. We shall return to sample the full menu.
