We visited Newforge House in May 2016 as part of a Good Food Ireland Tour. As big foodies we thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional food created by owner and Chef John Mathers and the craft beer pairings were an eye opener! John and Louise are very welcoming and we loved wandering around their beautiful garden where they grow they own ingredients...

A lovely old house, set in it's own gardens away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Peaceful and relaxing, the hosts are warm and engaging and the staff polite and considerate. There are only about half a dozen large rooms all with excellent en suite and facilities. This is just the 'home from home' that most of us...

This is a fantastic place with amazing food. We do a lot of mini breaks and have sought out boutique and luxury overnighters many times over the last 20 years. I'm so glad to see something on our own doorstep which can match something like The Witchery in Edinburgh or an upmarket Cotswold country retreat. Nice touches like full size...

Absolutely no detail was overlooked at this beautiful manor home tucked away inside a charming Irish village. It was by far the best place we stayed during our 8 days in Ireland. I loved sitting in their library and having drinks by the fire, walking the grounds and seeing the chickens and the gardens, and then enjoying one of the...

I visited here as part of a group of three couples recently. We had stopped off for lunch at Wine and Brine and had some fantastic food there so we were hoping Newforge House would compare favourably. We had no cause to worry. Our experience started with a warm welcome, coffee and delicious homemade Shortbread. Catherine looked after us, lighting...

This gorgeous Georgian mansion is the sort of country pile you wish you owned - set in lovely grounds, and packed full of original features. Service is personal and exemplary. As you'd expect, there are a range of rooms varying in size and price, but all are cosy and nicely appointed. Breakfast is cooked to order and is wonderful! During...

Newforge House is perfect! It's quiet, the staff is gracious, the food is amazing, the furnishings are comfortable, and the setting is beautiful. The proprietors' family has owned the place for several generations and lovingly maintain it. We'll certainly stay here next time.
