I booked a single room and was given a very nice double room. The bed is quite comfortable and the cooked breakfast is awesome. The guy who I am not sure if he is the owner or staff is very hospitality. Received a warm welcome and the stay is very enjoyable.

So, you want somewhere quiet, welcoming, reasonably priced, with great food (particularly breakfast), attentive host & staff, clean surrounding, free Wifi, free parking, and located close to many & varied outdoor pursuits? The Cairn Hotel was perfect for all of the above! Would highly recommend - it was the ideal choice for us! You will not be disappointed.

Large bedroom with bunk beds in the corner ideal for a family. Room a bit shabby looking but bed was comfy and bathroom was clean. Our dog and ourselves were made very welcome and our host told us about local walks and was very friendly - although I did have difficulty understanding his broad Scottish accent . Food was very...

I had a lovely stay,as i was heading north on my way to Orkney. The room is at the rear of the building,so it is really quiet. The decor is somewhat older, but i didn't mind,as it was clean and cosy with en-suite facilities.Usual amenities provided (free wi-fi,tea and coffee making, flatscreen tv). I had my dinner in the Restaurant, which was of good quality...

Just returned from a two night stay in this hotel. First impression was that the building was a wee bit tired and in need of some redecoration. But a very warm welcome greeted us from the owner who could not have been nicer. The bar was always busy and the food was first class with a service to match. The...

Restaurant review only. We had two nights in the village (stayed elsewhere) but ate here both nights - four of us and a borrowed dog (owners away) who was well trained - if he looked longingly at our food, you just said "Not for dogs" and he lay down again. Food was uniformly good, steaks particularly were excellent and not...

We stayed here last weekend and on the face of it, it looks ok. However step inside and instantly there are tell tale signs of dated decoration and neglect. The carpets are old and musty looking and up the stairs to the rooms there was a sky light which had clearly been leaking at some point as nobody had bothered...

Lovely one night stay at this unpretentious and friendly hotel in Carrbridge. The food was excellent - the bar prides itself on locally sourced ingredients - and we'd certainly stay again if we are ever in the area. NB that it's popular with the locals too, so maybe try to book at table if you're coming in late.

I stayed for 1 night on my way to the Orkney ferry. Staff were really helpful and even offered to find me a DVD to watch if I was bored. I was advised to eat early as the bar really fills up. The food was good value and really nice. The next day when I left I mentioned I was...

Many thanks to Gareth and Norma for attending to our every comfort a couple of weeks ago whilst we had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Cairn in Carrbridge. Absolutely nothing was any trouble, Norma even did some washing for us ! Breakfast was really delicious, hot and beautifully cooked. Our room (Livet) was spacious, airy and very comfortable....
