This will be my 3rd and last at Cape View Motel. I had experienced minor issues in the past and did not bother to mention but the earwig in the bed is the deal breaker. Lamp won’t work asked for new bulb still didn’t work. Person behind desk said “yeah we have some laps that don’t work.” Shower repeatedly cycled hot to cold. No table in room. TV Remote worked intermittently Found earwig in bed.

Had to cancel the reservation 2 and 1/2 weeks prior due to family emergency. The owner told my wife that she could not cancel the reservation through Expedia and that we would have to do it. My wife goes to do that and Expedia says that the hotel cancelled it. Top things off we find out that there is a NON REFUNDABLE deposit of $79.93. No where on Expedia or the Motels web site does it say that the deposit is non refundable. I called the owner and asked her if her web site states that the deposit is non refundable and she said "I don't know what is on our web site or Expedia". Her I don't really care attitude did not help. Might be a nice place but management and customer service is terrible

Just spent 2 nights in motel room #5 for a business trip and what a truly comfortable stay with a breathtaking view!!! The bed was fantastic including the linens, everything was very clean and tidy. The big windows make the room so light and airy with the best views you can imagine of Mavilette beach and the amazing salt air breeze!! I can't wait to return!!

If you are a traveller who prefers small, friendly privately owned businesses to chain hotels that are all exactly the same, you're going to LOVE it here. We stayed in one of the motel rooms and while it wasn't "fancy", it was super comfortable with a million dollar view. The host Laura was wonderful - she made great suggestions for where to eat, talked about the local area, and provided so many nice little touches. The hotel is on one of the most amazing beaches in all of Nova Scotia so after dinner we walked for miles and at night we could hear the surf through our window. In the morning she made us DELICIOUS coffee and homemade pumpkin bread and there were also apples, cereal, and juice available. We also saw her go out of her way for other guests, and even non-guests. When it was pouring rain and two older people who were bicycling stopped in to ask for directions, she immediately offered them a cup of hot tea and a chance to dry off. You don't get that kind of service staying at the Ritz!!! We can't recommend this place enough. And while they don't have a restaurant for dinner on the premises, there are two AMAZING restaurants just about 10 minutes away in Metaghen. We went to the Seashore Restaurant and also give it a five star rating - with one word of caution. If you're ordering the seafood platter, order the "half platter" as it had enough fish, scallops, and clams to make my husband wonder if he could finish it - and he can eat a LOT of seafood!!! If you want quiet relaxation and a chance to really experience Nova Scotia hospitality, you'll find it here.

Russ and Carol make this Motel so welcoming, it's like staying with Friends!! The room was great, very clean and the beds comfortable with plenty of pillows. The door that opens to the back with a view of the beach was worth every penny!! Continental breakfast, very delicious muffins and biscuits, yogurt, fruit and tea/coffee, a firepit, a beach view and board games for the chilly evening.........everything was fabulous!! I cannot wait to go back!!

We found the owners polite, friendly and easy to work with. We stayed in a cottage and found that it met our needs well. Lots of hot water for those after beach washes. A genuinely positive experience. My only caution would be for persons with sensitivities to mold that you may wish to book a room in the motel rather than a cottage as there are indicators of black mold on the ceiling, but this presented no trouble for us.

Fabulous view of the beach from our room; I slept like a log to the sound of waves. While some things may need updating, overall this is a great place. Could stay here for a while with the efficiency amenities.

Okay, let me start by saying if you are looking for high end and flashy this is not the place. If you are looking for excellent service, clean and comfortable with an amazing location this is the place for you. My wife and I stayed there last night and it was amazing from check in to check out. The room was clean and comfortable. While the rooms are dated they are impeccably maintained. The beds are so very comfortable (and we are picky about that) and the views are out of this world. Just steps away from an amazing beach! Russ welcomes us on arrival and showed us the room. He was friendly and personable. Ignore the people who say he was too bossy. Keep in mind this is a small property so one person not adhering to common decency will ruin everyone’s stay. He checked in with us a couple of times (when he was passing by) to make sure everything was okay. He recommended dinner at an amazing restaurant and even made our reservations. Our room overlooked the ocean and there were two comfortable Adirondack chairs for us to sit, read our books and enjoy the view. To our great surprise there was coffee (good coffee) and fresh cheese biscuits and muffins in the lobby in the morning. Again, an amazing value added feature. All in all, the location can not be beat! The motel is well maintained and comfortable and the price is right! I will certainly be recommending this property to my friends!

What a fabulous hidden gem! Russ and Carol were amazing hosts, from offering us towels for the beach to making us reservations for supper! Very nice clean rooms with a beautiful view of the ocean. They were very friendly and made a great getaway even better with their hospitality! I would definitely recommend this place. Very quick walk to the beach where we spent hours collecting shells and sea glass, sadly too cold to swim, but beautiful nonetheless. Looking forward to going back.
