We only stayed here one night to make it convenient to go on the 3-hour coffee tour the next morning. The coffee tour was very good, but I'm not reviewing that here. Keep in mind that if you book the Hacienda Venecia for lodging there are 3 separate properties, the high-end main house, the moderate priced guest house, and the...

We booked on line for pick-up from our hostel. They did not mention my hostel for pick-up and did not respond to e mail requests to confirm. I phoned the night before and received confirmation pick up would be at 8:30, not 9. The Tour was excellent. Maryori was engaging and knowledgeable. The grounds and surrounding area are gorgeous We...

My partner and I stayed for a night and did a coffee tour. They have a hostel, guest house and main hotel which are all quite far apart. We stayed at the guest house which had a pool (ideal in the hot weather). It was brilliant. We had a great breakfast included and opted to have dinner there which was...

We loved our stay at the Hacienda Guesthouse. The room was clean and comfortable, the food prepaid by local women was delicious and nutritious. Everyone were wonderful, friendly and so helpful. Pamela organised us a tour with a wonderful guide to the National Par where we hiked at over 4000m altitude, saw special plants and animals. He took us to...

Stayed at the principal house on the coffee plantation. House of about 1900 with lovely veranda and garden. All guests eat together with menu of the day at 7.00pm, breakfast 8.00am. Rooms, some have PB, others next door via veranda. Rooms dark and full of books. Beds lumpy, furniture all designed as period and probably were. fair only

I loved the Hacienda Venecia and it was my favourite portion of our Colombia visit. The owners and staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful and accommodating. We stayed at the Guest house which was newly renovated. The surrounding hills and coffee plantations made for an incredibly peaceful setting. I loved waking up to the sounds of birds singing and the...

The tour was very interesting I also did a couple of hikes on the property, they were very nice and gave beautiful vistas of the area. I am not a...

The tour was very interesting, we learned a lot about coffee in general and the whole process. The level of English of the guide was also very impressive and he knows so much! The only downside was that we were with 40 people, so at times you couldn't hear or see everything. Also, there is no coffee tasting included. They...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hacienda Venecia is a coffee farm with a century's worth of experience in the cultivation, production, roasting, marketing and exporting of Colombian coffee. Due to climate changes, we are also expanding into growing and cultivating cacao where historically it wasn't possible. Along with offering coffee and cacao tours, we offer three types of accommodation, Main House, Guest House and Hostel, all which include unlimited coffee throughout your stay! Main House: The oldest building on the farm, which shows a traditional Antioquian colonisation architectural style. Enjoy our beautiful gardens, private pool, terrace, and game room. Rooms with private and shared bathrooms are available. Guest House: Traditionally where guests of the hacienda would be received, including coffee buyers and roasters before it opened its doors to tourism. A terrace with hammocks overlooks the pool and gardens full of fruit trees. Hostel: Transformed from an old coffee pickers' lodging, our hostel is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and paths amongst the coffee groves. This pretty corner of the Hacienda has a garden with fruit trees, an open kitchen, mini-market, patio, game area and camping space. Each bed has a large locker, bedside shelf, and small locker with a plug socket inside. All accommodations include complimentary breakfast. Traditional Colombian lunches and dinners are available for purchase. ... more   less
