First of all, be aware that the Hacienda Venecia offers tree houses with different types of accommodation: the hostel, the guest house and the main house - aimed at three different levels of traveler wallets: from budget friendly bunk beds to boutique-style bed and breakfast. We had initially booked for the guest house (the main house was sold out at...

We had a personal tour from the owner/manager of this beautiful plantation. We found our visit to be interesting, informative were quite overwhelmed by the time taken by Juan Pablo Echeverri in explaining how the Hacienda works . We, I know were very fortunate in receiving such attention It is a fabulous location, well worth a visit or even a...

Great place! The coffee tour is really informative, definitely worth it. I stayed in the hostel which was good, clean and with a good atmosphere. The people are really welcoming and helpful and the trees in the tree provide mangos and mandarins!

We spent three nights in the main house, the "casa principal". Our room, the Mockingbird, seems to be the largest with a king size bed and has a private bathroom. The room is rustic but comfortable and it makes you feel like being on a farm. Outside the room you find beautiful balconies with hammocks to relax and everything around...

We arrived to a construction site. The rooms and lodgings were still under construction with lots of noise, people mixing concrete, painting, cutting and laying tiles and the air was full of dust. The rooms were unfinished, no door between the bedroom and toilet, no widows anywhere in the building, no Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi had been advertised) not even a shower...

We stayed two nights this January 2016 with a friend. Hacienda has main house (casa principal), guesthouse and hostel. The most beautiful with great views is casa principal so having seen other parts I am convinced it is worth stay and money. Breathtaking views and pretty rooms and terraces. Food is fresh and healthy. There are lots of colourful birds...

We enjoyed our stay at the Hacienda. We did the coffee tour in the morning and stayed till the late afternoon to return to town. The tour was informative. We also had lunch which was good. We took the shuttle from Manizales and back. As we were the first who were picked up we had to wait quite a bit...

I'm a massive coffee lover, and a tour of a working coffee farm was one of the top things I wanted to do in Colombia. To say I wasn't disappointed is a massive understatement. Hacienda Venecia is so stunning, I only wish I'd stayed there as I talked to some fellow backpackers whilst I was there and they told me...

This Hacienda is situated about 1 hour outside of Manizales in the green hills of coffee country. It has amazing views, good rooms and serves delicious meals three times a day. The staff and owner are wonderful and make you feel at home. They also run an affordable 3 hour coffee tour, in English, that is informative about the history...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hacienda Venecia is a coffee farm with a century's worth of experience in the cultivation, production, roasting, marketing and exporting of Colombian coffee. Due to climate changes, we are also expanding into growing and cultivating cacao where historically it wasn't possible. Along with offering coffee and cacao tours, we offer three types of accommodation, Main House, Guest House and Hostel, all which include unlimited coffee throughout your stay! Main House: The oldest building on the farm, which shows a traditional Antioquian colonisation architectural style. Enjoy our beautiful gardens, private pool, terrace, and game room. Rooms with private and shared bathrooms are available. Guest House: Traditionally where guests of the hacienda would be received, including coffee buyers and roasters before it opened its doors to tourism. A terrace with hammocks overlooks the pool and gardens full of fruit trees. Hostel: Transformed from an old coffee pickers' lodging, our hostel is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and paths amongst the coffee groves. This pretty corner of the Hacienda has a garden with fruit trees, an open kitchen, mini-market, patio, game area and camping space. Each bed has a large locker, bedside shelf, and small locker with a plug socket inside. All accommodations include complimentary breakfast. Traditional Colombian lunches and dinners are available for purchase. ... more   less
