Detailed Reviews
I spent 4 nights. Absolutely a fantastic place, 30 big rooms spread in various huge bungalows built on stilt right on the water in the fishing village of Sawai. Plenty of open spaces where you eat. From the balcony you can admire plenty of tropical fishes under your eyes : why snorkeling ? The water is so clear ! Food is absolutely delicious and big portions. The place is so calm and the silence is also surrounding the charming fishing village. Snorkeling trips can be organised, full day 700'000 idr.

The rooms are simple but very clean. Electricity is only available between 5pm and 7am, you can get a fan for the night on request. Every wish was fulfilled, even cold beer was provided for us! The manager is very helpful and everyone is very friendly! The food was delicious! The location of the lodge we liked well, right on the water, but still in the village of Sawai. Our walks through the village were a lot of fun, the residents are open and outgoing, the children curious!

The Lisa's Bahari Hotel is a special hotel. The rooms are built directly above the water. The air conditioning is the cracks between the planks. Each room has its own bathroom. The view is great. Nice hotel if you are a water sports enthusiast. The hotel offers various options.
The meals served are excellent. A top location to stay for a few days.

Lisar Bahari is a little guest house, consisting of several wooden bungalows or cottages containing a number of bedrooms each, all on stilts above the sea. Each room (in the bungalow we stayed in) had a simple en-suite toilet/shower, an indoor communal section, and a nice balcony. Built over water, one can stare down into the sea, and see much sealife going about it's daily (and nightly) activities. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable, admitedly, but the view is more mesmerizing than an open fire.
We had accomodation including meals - normal Indonesian fare based on soups and rice with fish and chicken - generally quite flavourfull, and plenty of it too. Tea and water are complimentary, anything else you need to supply yourself.
This place is not a destination in itself - there's better for that (go to nearby Ora Beach, for example), and we used it as a place to stay while birding in the magnificent mountains of the Manusela National Park nearby - and as such it was more than adequate. Yes, it's simple: power is limited to night-time only, no hot water, no air con, no fan, but it was well-maintained, attractive in appearance, and as such you didn't really miss anything.
The guest house is at the end of the road through the little village of Sawai - a small, but surprisingly cute little place (given what else I've seen in Indonesia, that is) - yes, there's some garbage (usual Indonesian problem), but the houses were cute, lots of children playing about, a clear soccer mania manifested in houses painted in the colours of Argentinian, Brazilian, Dutch, German, etc. flags, and many club-football t-shirts everywhere. It only takes you maybe 30 minutes to see it all, and as such there's nothing to "see" - except village life in a village that seems to take pride in itself - it definitely seemed like a happy place!
So, as a location from which to base yourself while exploring the country-side, and sea-side, for that matter, you could really do much worse than this place! Why four stars? Well, as such, it was at best 3 stars - basic and simple, but the last star is for the feel-good of the place - it was simply enjoyable - and feel-good here includes Sawai itself. I felt quite priviledged having stayed here, given that probably few foreigners come through here.
Combine staying here with Ora Beach (first stay at Lisar Bahari though - Ora's waters are better for snorkeling and doing nothing), and enjoy Seram's comparative emptiness and beauty!

This accommodation was very hard to figure out, and I speak Indonesian. On arrival, we weren't asked to register, we were introduced to neither the staff nor the owner, and we were not given any information about the reef, the village or the guest house itself.
The guest house is made up of bare partitioned rooms in a large dorm setting.
We stayed for three nights and we inquired about the rates 4 times before being told the room rate.
We are two adults and a child, and the prices is rp330,000 per person. Since we only had 2 single beds between the 3 of us, and our child ate very little, this seemed very expensive relative to the region. There are no credit card facilities and no atm in the town, so be prepared.
The price includes meals, which were great, and delivered three times a day.
This style of accommodation is all fine, but in comparison to other hotels in the region (such as https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g2444699-d8452978-Reviews-Cilu_Bintang_Estate-Banda_Neira_Maluku_Islands.html) the price is unreasonable.
The area is beautiful but consider other accommodation options.

Very very cheap, especially for foreigners. Even it's kinda hard to reach, some car rental are always available everyday. Good food, beautiful view and friendly crew and owner of the resort. There is also some cheap package for boat tour around the village.

Stayed for 3 nights here, it's a good base to get around. Snorkeling trips (also to Ora Beach, with great snorkeling spot where you can switch off from the world - at a much higher price), hiking to the top of the hill (the view is amazing), or visit to the bird rehabilitation center, even to the village with its friendly people (try to sample some locally made snacks- delicious & cheap too!).
Pak Ali, the owner & staffs are friendly and always try to deliver the best service. The food is good, the room is nice and clean though some time we had to wait for fresh water to run again for about 30 min - 1 hour (supply is from the village main spring). Ask for the newer bungalows as they have better looking furniture and newer mattresses. In terms of connectivity there's good phone reception, and internet connection through an Indonesian provider, Telkomsel. The road trip to Masohi (then ferry to Ambon) is 3-4 hours through the national forest of Manusela; another treat along the journey.
This place is highly recommended, we can't help feeling like a member of family when leaving; hoping to come back again.

The cottages seem to look nice. In rooms are quite big and quite clean. However the bathroom is dirty and there is no sink or hooks to hang on stuff. The most scary and deterrent object was that we had big problems with the communication, the responsability and reliability of the owner and the staff. Incipient that the staff is not very interested to communicate or offer you any tours or programs. When they gave us any tipps, it was unfortunality very uninformative. In the end we booked a snorkeling tour for 1 000 000 Rupiah. The owner confirmed us that it would be cheaper if we would organize more people, so we did. In the end we were 4 people, therefore the price was 250 000 Rupiah per person. We had confirmed the price again with the help of indonesia-speaking people. So we did the wholeday trip and wanted to pay the trip and the room the next day. We immidiatly recognized that the owner got nervous and discussed unfrindly with his staff. We were up to pay the confirmed price, as the owner got angry after a second. He refused to talk to us and got realy insulted "like a kid". He sat in front of the house and realy didn't discuss in any way about "his problem". After a time we figured out, that he just wanted to scam us and insisted that he wants 300000 extra for oil or anything with he never even mentioned before. We tried to explain in normal words that it is very un-cooperative and unfair that he want to charge us more money. He immidiatly began to scream and threathened us with rude, scary and even violance sayings and hand movements. After a rude discussion we just decided to give him the confirmed money. As we gave him the notes he immidiatly throw away all of it, again super scary rude and childish behaviour. In the very and he wanted to throw a little bike for children on me. I am lucky that i was not alone and my tall boyfriend could frightend him a bit. After this we were so shoked that we realy run out of the area of Lisar. As Sawai is a super small village we were afraid that he would organize some other people from the village, as he knows that we could not move or flee easily. We tried to asked every fisherman to bring us to Tujuh-Islands. We were so lucky as we just could flee... Please be aware of him and do not visit this Guest-House. There are so many other beautiful ways to spend the time around Seram and Ora-Beach.

Although the access to come here was a long way , but it was worth the trip . Pak Ali who is the owner and Pak Dino the second man in charge are the most helpful people and the staffs service are excellent . traditional bajo bamboo floating room , with a breathtaking view over the calm sea and surrounded with limestones . Meals were delicious , you wont get starved because they feed you quiet often . they offer day trips as well, we enjoyed our island hopping day trips. there's no electrity during the daytime , the electricity back on at 6pm onwards til 6am , no wifi but we dont need it,cause we enjoy the scenery from the balcony .

This really could be an awesome hotel. The hotel is a collection of wooden stilt houses over the sea in the village of Sawai in North Pulau Seram. The location is fantastic being close to some great reefs, jungle areas, and beaches. But, the owner hasn't quite figured out what backpackers needs are. The place is set up for large local tour groups and was quite souless when we were there since we were the only guests in a huge building. The owners sons have set up a nice video to show you a range of different activities such as jungle walks, river trips, bird watching and snorkeling but they were all a little expensive for just the two of us. We went on an excellent half day jungle walk and saw Hornbills and ate amazingly tasty Durians fresh from the tree. We also went on a full day tour to Ora Beach and a couple of local reefs. The snorkeling was a little disappointing but Ora Beach has a stupendous setting. The hotel is full board and we always got plenty of food. Lots of fresh fish which was always great. Lots of positives and worth a visit just don't hang around the hotel for too many hours!
