We first saw this structure from our fishing boat charter and just had to investigate further. We found the path from the beach and followed it to the pool. Pool was pristine and obviously being used. My S/O thought we should not trespass but I really wanted to get a pic of the front of the unique, eclectic structure. As...

These reviews should probably be under an "Attractions" category until further notice since I believe the Nosara Beach Hotel has been defunct since 2012. For the time being, it's just a very cool and unusual building with some ornate flourishes that are well worth seeing. Located on an elevation between Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada, it is considered a beloved...

The Nosara Beach Hotel is a one-time great hotel that seems to be showing signs of life. It's located on an outcropping of land between Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada, a looks like someone parked a Soviet-era Soyuz space craft just off the beach. Two years ago, the property appeared all but abandoned. Now, there's an active renovation going on....

My daughter and I decided to hike up to the hotel to see what was there. We didn't see any "No Trespassing" or "Private Property" signs, so figured it was okay to look around. As we were about to climb up the stairwell, and dog came running at us, fangs showing, in a very threatening and menacing way. It started...

Let me start off by saying I did not stay at this apparent hotel. I found this place in December 2010, by accident. We were staying nearby at the villa canadiense and while walking all the way down the beach we saw this dr.suesian tower looming over the palms on a jetty of stones and jungle at the end of...

Well, has tghe construction ended here yet? I stayed at the original Nosara Beach Hotel some 25 years ago. It was a stunning one building hotel with the fabulous views it commands. I stayed there again (for only 2 days) some 9 years ago. What had chnged? There was construction going on and the new rooms that were added some...

The hotel Nosara is one of Nosara's oldest hotels, although it is no longer primarily a hotel, as much as it is the owner's private residence. If someone accidentally stumbles on it and finds an employee working on the grounds, they will allow you to stay there (it is not in the Costa Rican nature to say no to people)...

Stayed at this hotel years ago. Really not much had changed. New folks running the place who were very nice and helpful. The view is the best and very convenient to the beach and surf spots. However, did I feel safe at night? No. The rooms are basically like barracks. Very basic with no luxuries. For the price there are...
