We found this guesthouse to be a lovely place to stay. Our room was quite large, tastefully decorated and comfortable, and had a delicious and very enjoyable dinner eating in the guesthouse garden. The host was very warm, helpful and hospitable. All in all, it left us with a very positive feeling for our brief stay in the Black Forest.

Saint Peter is about 20k from Freiburg and it was great to be away from the hussle and bussle of the main city. The staff was always very friend, speaking both German and English if needed. Rooms were very nice, comfy beds, plenty of pillows / sheets. Breakfast every morning was traditional German of bread, meat, cheese, HOMEMADE JAMS!, yogurt...

Three of us had a really lovely stay (3 nights) at this gasthof in early April. We shared a spacious room on the top floor, overlooking St. Peter. The beds are very comfortable and the food was fabulous - 2 dinners and 3 breakfasts (with Barbara's homemade preserves). Try the local wine (gutedal)

Frau Rombach was an extraordinary hostess to our group of 15 from the United States. We loved the location of the Gasthaus (just a 5-minute walk from Sankt Peter's church and the village center), the walking trails in the back of the house, the room decorations (authentic antique furniture, themed rooms), the cleanliness and order all around us, Frau Rombach's...

Do not expect a lot of frills in this Gasthaus. What you should expect is a very friendly and accommodating staff, and clean, cozy rooms with extremely comfortable beds. The location is great if you intend to do some hiking; the town's trailhead is just behind the building, and the view from the balconies (if you are fortunate enough to...

We recently had 2 days in the Black Forest and chose this lovely guest house as our base. We aren't normally 'guest house' people, but the reviews and location convinced us to give it a try. Of all the accommodation we stayed in during our 16 day trip, this little gem was a real highlight. Our hostess spoke excellent English,...
