This was just a fantastic place to stay at. Great spacious accommodation in a really lovely setting. Fantastic breakfast, organic and healthy, one of the best breakfast we ever had (and we love breakfasts). We had three wonderful nights in this beautiful lodge. Reinhard and Petra work hard to ensure the place is maintained in tip top condition and Petra is particularly good at making every single guest feel special and welcome. We were reaching the end of our long holiday in NZ and this was a wonderful place in which to chill and...

My wife and I spent here (unfortunately) one night only. We had the great pleasure of experiencing a very warm welcome by Petra and Reinhard - the two hosts whose German Black Forest roots fortunately are not hidden - ; an accommodation affectionately designed and furnished, combining Black Forest and New Zealand elements; a beautiful garden including a lily pond...

Bushlands is testimony to the inspiration and determination of Petra and Reinhard to create an elegant, homely and welcoming lodge in what was previously wilderness close to Whangamata in the beautiful Coromandel peninsula. We had a relaxing and stimulating stay with outstanding food, comfort and company, not least from Petra and Reinhard themselves. With ease and grace, as if there...

This is a gorgeous property operated by Reinhard and Petra. They provide so much personalized care at their amazing lodge. This lodge was part of our honeymoon excursion and it did not disappoint. It is only a few miles from town so you can kayak and pattleboard in the bay, or go to the local shops and bars in Whangamata....

We had an excellent stay for two days in the lodge of Petra and Reinhardt. They did everything to make it comfort for us. Also the dinner two evenings was great. If we come back in New Zealand we sure should stay here again. The service is great.

Surpassed all expectations. Petra and Reinhard took care of every little detail. Beautiful personal meals with matching wines. Left feeling very pampered. We will definitely be returning for an anniversary when the time comes. Thanks from Clarke and Kels

We spent 2 wonderful nights here for our wedding anniversary. The setting is just amazing - so peaceful. Petra and Reinhard are such wonderful hosts and the meals are world class. Wentworth Falls is just a 45 minute walk from the lodge and well worth the effort. We will certainly return to Bushland Park Lodge.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bushland Park Lodge & Retreat in Whangamata created its own speciality for a high quality and very personal hosting. The owners "Petra & Reinhard" love to share their passion with their guests for fine dining, glass-art & pure nature with New Zealand "bush & beach". Exclusively only 3 fortunate couples experience this very unique place in the Coromandel Peninsula New Zealand with a variety of attractive features: A private glow-worm grotto just 3 minutes from your dining table. Outdoors, close to the lily pond and with total privacy a "Double Slipper Bath" to gaze at the Milky Way stars with Champagne & Candles. Your "private Chef" offers high class cuisine in the Lodge's dining wine cellar; often on his own created art glass dinnerware. Bush walks to the famous Wentworth Falls start at the doorstep, and glorious white-sand beaches are only a few minutes' drive away. Two golf courses close by. Bushland Park Lodge is not just a stop along the way, but a destination in its own right. ... more   less
