We were in a camper van not the actual hostel but we had great service. The hostel is warm, friendly and a great place to spend a night or two. In the office we met Stephanie who was the best part of our stay. Exceptionally friendly and helpful when our van had a flat tire. We wouldn't have been able... More

Happy to find this place. We traveled in a motorhome with a small dog and had found it difficult to find a place that would accept a pet. Staff here were very friendly and helpful. Our dog enjoyed an encounter with a cute baby goat, she wasn't too sure about the kunekune pig. We were able to use the toilets... More

We visited the accommodation in winter, during its quiet time. The room are stunning with beautiful wooden panels on the walls and the staff is highly knowledgeable and always up for a good chat. Juno Hall is also full of animals! A playful Kitten and even a baby goat that we got to feed one morning. How cute is that!?... More

This little lodge was in the perfect location for doing the Lost Journey cave tours. Literally, a 3 minute walk from the back of their property (where you'll pass by a very friendly pig, you'll want to chat with.) We had a private room that had a queen bunk and an extra twin bed, a tv that you can put... More

To start off with, Dave- you're a LEGEND! Honestly, the manager of this hostel is a great laugh. The kitchen is really clean (yay!), the beautiful log fire was the highlight of our trip (haven't found one in a hostel to match), loved the location (rural and peaceful) and last but not least, Dave's friendly cat and dog (we loved... Excellent, helpful female staff member who let us use the staff fridge because of overcrowding in the other fridges. We had a wonderful room with 3 beds and if the weather had been a bit warmer, we would have used the pool on the premises. The hostel backed onto farm land which housed a couple of large pigs and a... More

The staff member was very helpful - I arrived after hours and she was happy for me to interupt her evening and go to hre house to collect keys. The kitchen and dining area is large and a good place to connect with other travellers. Unfortunately the bathroom facilities are very average - definitely take thongs to wear in the... More

Lovely hostel with beautiful views over the sprawling Waitomo countryside. Rooms are lovely wood panelled, with sturdy bunk beds. Lovely large kitchen and lounge areas. Yha members get a little bit of free internet, after that you have to pay. Or you can go to a cheap local restaurant for free WiFi. Man who owns it is super charismatic and... More

Stayed here because of the proximity to the Black Water Rafting Company as it's right across the road. The main township l, I-site, shops, pubs and restaurants are about a 15-20 minute walk up a road which is not lit at night. Safe enough but if you are lazy like me it's an effort after a few beers! The accommodation... More
