Previous reviews said how great this place was... ...and they were right! Wonderful house, sumptuous food, and most excellent hosts. Thanks to Kenneth and Margaret for a lovely stay. One of the highlights of our visit was the fishing lesson Margaret arranged. Nearby walking paths provide plenty to do without having to drive anywhere. Proximity to town allows you to...

This was an unplanned but totally delightful stop on our holiday. There are many special features - the superbly comfortable bed, the scrumptious breakfast, kind and generous hosts and beautiful setting. Margaret gave great recommendations for dinner, Lakeland House, and lunch heading south, Sugar Plum Cafe. Ika Lodge is a real treat and we'd love to return. Thank you Margaret...

Had a lovely stay at the Ika Lodge! Despite the fact that our planned Tongariro crossing was cancelled due to weather, we had a great time in the area. Margaret and Ken are extremely hospitable and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. They arranged a white water rafting trip for us that was...

Afraid we try to influence the weather on the mountains but sometimes with little effect, so glad you enjoyed the white water rafting on the mighty Tongariro and we could send you on your way after a wholesome breakfast

We stayed in Ika Lodge recently and found it a lovely place set in a beautiful neighbourhood in Turangi. Kenneth and Margaret give this lodge that Kiwi stamp of warmth and hospitality and they were helpful from booking and throughout our stay. We were given good advice on restaurants, driving times and some thoughts about attractions in the area that...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ika Lodge in April. It was very well situated for walking the Tongariro Crossing (a 25 minute drive to the end of the track & shuttle buses to the start). We loved the breakfast - such attention to detail and great quality food; also the grapes and home baking in the room was most...

We had 2 nights at Ika Lodge for our trek to Tongariro Crossing. Such a pity it wasn't longer to make full use of the lodge during Autunm and the beautiful surrounds in Turangi. Margaret made us feel so welcomed and rose at the crack of dawn to cook us breakfast. Sure felt like a home away from home! You...

We recently stayed in Ika Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Kenneth was holding the fort as Margaret was away, and described himself as the B team but we were very impressed, especially with his breakfasts! Lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting.

Margaret and Kenneth made our single night's stay here a real pleasure. After a walk along the river and a welcoming glass of port provided in our beautiful room, we had a lovely meal prepared by Kenneth under instructions from Margaret (due to her recent mishap) at a table immaculate set for us and lovely music in the background. The...

We were welcomed by the super friendly hosts of the lodge. The room was very spacious, clean and tidy. We were given a lot of extra information about things we could see in the surroundings, which was very handy since we were staying for just one night. The next morning, we had the best breakfast EVER. Fresh hot croissants, homemade...

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay two nights at the Ika Lodge. We were there to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Upon arrival, our hosts Kenneth and Margaret made us feel right at home (even though we were 10,000 miles away!). Our room was large, nicely decorated, and wonderfully appointed with anything we might need and more...

“I think the downstairs rooms are spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately the upstairs room is rather cramped, loft-style, with slanting beams you have to stoop to walk round to avoid hitting your head, which we managed to do anyway.”
