We stayed only one night, intending to do the Tongariro Crossing the following day. The owners were so accomodating, and seemed like a lovely couple. Something went wrong with the booking site we used, and somehow we ended up being booked for the wrong day entirely the next month. They were filling up, but found somewhere for us that night...

This motel has very dated decor however it wasn't an issue as I was here to enjoy the outdoors not the indoors. Another bonus each unit has a carport. Great location if wanting to do Tongariro River Trail. Awesome trail to bike. Definatly will be back very soon.

My husband and I are doing a two-month tour of New Zealand on bicycles. We arrived, hot and tired, and mentioned to the owner, Ross, that we would like to do some fly fishing. He loaned us gear and pointed us to some wonderful waters just a couple of blocks from the motel. We have had a wonderful couple of...

We were just passing through and getting tired when we decided to stop in Turangi to locate accommodations (we didn't prepare, thus did not have pre-reserved a bed). All of the places we phoned were priced very high. Ross was very cordial and quoted us a reasonable rate. The property is quaint with lots of flowers and assorted pumice and...

We absolutely loved our stay at the motel - two nights, breaking our journey either side of a trip to the Bay of Plenty. It's old fashioned and quirky - but in a good way, a real Kiwiana experience - from the timber-clad walls and fishing pics to the colourful vintage wool extra blankets- . Spotlessly clean, quiet, very relaxed,...

The couple who run the motel are just lovely and were very helpful to us to plan a wonderful bike ride along the river in our limited stay. However, the unit was just not up to scratch. The decor seems unchanged since the 1970s and is tired and worn, and in places just plain ugly! It had everything we needed,...

Took 2 rooms just before new year. Very low price considering, and very friendly and warm caretakers. Wifi worked well as did everything. However you do get traffic noise and we saw no evidence of air conditioning which would be a problem in hot weather. Also quite dated but can't fault the value for the cost.

Everything I had hoped for and more. The rooms were very comfortable with everything you could want. Ross and Pip were fabulous hosts and could not have been more helpful. Ross' fishing tips were invaluable.

Our cottage was very spacious, comfortable and cosy. We arrived fairly late in the evening but received warm welcome from Ross and Pip and their adorable "guard dog" :-) Ross shared with us his local knowledge and gave us great tips on where to go and what to do in the short time we had. Thank you so much!
