From the moment we arrived, which was after midnight we felt the great atmosphere of the place. The staff were fantastically accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. The food (breakfast and dinner) was exceptional in its quality and value. A very pretty area with walks along the river. A great location for our first trip to the Highlands.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at The Mash Tun in March this year. The location was perfect for exploring/hiking Aberlour and the surrounding area. The room was clean and very nicely appointed. Breakfast was good and we also ate our dinners in the restaurant--the food was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here 3 nights and cannot fault the accomodation, food or staff. Fantastic selection of malts, great quiz night and we were made to feel so welcome. Karen and Mark were great hosts and Aberlour was a great place to stay for walking and distillery touring. Aberlour suite was very comfortable;super comfy bed and lots of space- very quiet despite...

I booked this place for an overnight stay due to another local hotel being fully booked. How lucky was I finding this place. A bit difficult to find at first but what a fantastic location literally looking over the beautiful River Spey and a minute from the high street. Great food, great company and great rooms. I had a room...

Four of us made this our base while exploring the distilleries - on the whole it was pretty good and value for money. We stayed Thursday through to Monday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had the Glenlivet room on the third floor and the Aberlour room on the second floor. The Glenlivet room was small but very pretty, adequate although...

We stayed here for one night during a 3 night tour of the Highlands - in the Glenfarclas room which had views of the river. It is a relatively small room although there was room for a tub chair to sit and look out of the window. The shower room is also compact but everywhere was spotless and the bed...

Four of us spent 3 nights at the Mash Tun in March 2015 and had a wonderful experience. The Mash Tun served as our home base while we toured distilleries in the Speyside area. The bar and restaurant are on the first floor, and the rooms are on the second and third floors. Our room on the third floor, The...

Many thanks to the owners and team for their hospitality during our recent trip to Speyside. The rooms are comfortably appointed and we found the beds to be very comfortable - in fact are off to buy the same mattress later today for home! The breakfast was lovely, as were the bar meals. We had lunch on two occassions and...

I went to the Mash Tun specifically because it was listed alongside other whisky bars I was visiting during this trip to Scotland, but it did not fare well by comparison. Whilst they do have the very impressive looking (and pricey!) Glenfarclas Family Cask Collection, the rest of the range of whiskies is quite underwhelming and the staff who served...

Well run bar/restaurant/hotel. Consistent good standard . Menu is varied and food presented well.Mains of salmon, and chicken with bacon and pate very good. Always a real beer on and sometimes two. Wine is limited but adequate. If in town worth a visit
