I booked this hotel through Bookings.com. I booked a superior double room and was expecting to stay there by myself as my wife was away, I therefore paid extra for 'single use'. At the very last minute circumstances changed and my wife could come with me, on arriving the hotel told me I had to pay extra for a second...

David W booked a double room for single occupancy at £72 (a 10% discount from our normal rate). David W did not pay extra, David W paid £58 less than our normal rate for 2 persons staying in this room. On arrival David W informed us that there were two persons staying. Our normal rate is £130 for double occupancy...

Characterful hotel, nice ambience, friendly & helpful staff & owners. Great food in the evening and fantastic breakfast - one of the best and tastiest cooked breakfasts I've had in a hotel. The room (Chalk) was spacious & comfortable. Miles better than the chain hotels in Dover itself, and only 5-10 minutes drive to port/town. Highly recommended.

It was already the 5th time I was there and it will be not the last time. Familyrun, small and very british. A real original. The only thing to complain about are the showers. No waterpressure at all and always a problem to get clean under it. I stayed in several rooms now and it is more or less in...

Had evening meal but my fish meal was like a starter. Very tasty but it did not fill me. Quite expensive because of size of portions it was not good. We left and had food back at our hotel. Don't get me wrong though it is good food but like I've said very small portion.

Just a quick overnighter before catching an early ferry, but really appreciated the hotel staff seeing me to my room and helping me prepare for my early start. Lovely hotel with new, clean rooms set slightly apart from the hubbub of a warm and friendly country pub bar and restaurant. Definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to passing through...

What a friendly place in a beautiful surrounding with clean, bright rooms. Little Garden and very nice breakfast. Unfortunately we were much to late for dinner but the menu looked also very interesting.

We stayed here for its proximity to the White Cliffs...a very doable walk to the beach and well worth the effort. The staff were attentive, our dinner in the dining room was good, as were the occasional cocktails at the bar and in the garden. We had a room with a queen bed that was sufficiently spacious for our needs....

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel before catching a ferry early the next morning. We booked by phone and asked for the same room as last year which was available. We were offered help with our luggage up the steep stairs to the room. A bit surprised to find that most of the lights in the room still...

When we arrived there was a new employee that didn't appear to have been thoroughly trained. So she first had to make sure that she led us up the right staircase as she wasn't sure about the location of it. I would have appreciated it if I had been offered help with the luggage. The staircases that lead up to...
