Who: Family of 4 What: Road Trip through England. Pros: It's like stepping back in time! The lodge is modernly appointed and tucked away in a beautiful section of the grounds. There was plenty of space in the lodge and each teen had their own room. The rooms were very clean, not over-furnitured and inviting with plenty of space for...

We happened upon this lodge when looking for somewhere to stay to visit relatives outside of Preston. Located on the trust property Samlesbury Hall - the small lodge is well appointed and in a lovely spot. The Hall itself is open to visitors between 11-4 and is well worth a look. On the property are also lovely gardens and a...

Our family visited Samlesbury Hall on Valentine's Day not sure what to expect, The grounds of this lodge are not huge but quaint. The original building being built in the 1300s has been fantastically kept. The history of this place is very interesting. We decided to take the tour with Janey, apart from having great knowledge of the Hall, was...

We attended a wedding ceremony and reception at Samlesbury Hall in summer. The venue itself is delightful with lots of charm for such occasions. Catering was also fantastic. The bar was a little restrictive in terms of size which did cause congestion later on. We were staying overnight and because we just needed somewhere to crash afterwards we elected to...

Picturesque setting for wedding photos, reception and evening do Lovely food and bar service was good too although pricey. Nice grounds for a stroll and interesting animal area close to a couple of camping pods if you fancy staying overnight. Grounds open to visitors when not closed for a private booking.

We’re descendants of the Southworth family of Samlesbury Hall and share the same name, so we made a wide detour to come stay at this place during our trip to England. The little lodge looks just as cute in person as it does in the photos. STAFF: I can’t say enough about the kindness of the people working and volunteering...

I boked in as a business client looking for an overnight room. I was given the keys to a lodge set about 200 metres away from the haunted main building that is the hall. The pictures on display are of the inside of the lodge and are accurate; it's clean, warm and cosy. I didn't spend the night as I...

I recently stayed at the Samlesbury Hall lodge, 'a four star lodge, designed with luxury in mind.' They may have had luxury in their mind's, but I'm not sure it's quite what they created. The lodge has a medieval styled exterior, in keeping with the design of the hall, and does look quite pretty from the outside, set in the...
