First of all the negatives the room was average with quite a few cobwebs and very dark. No hot water for a shower had to wait 2 hours and the shower was very dated. One.bath towel and one hand towel provided which wasn't ideal when you both want a shower. The positives bed was comfy and the evening meals was... More

We stayed hear on a groupon deal which was very good value. Room was lovely and included a four poster bed. It would have been nice to have a bath in the room rather than a shower, but, hey you can't have everything. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive without always hovering. Food was well cooked and presented and... More

6 of us got together on a dinner bed and breakfast package last month. This place blew us away when driving into the car park. Truly amazing view over open countryside. The gardens and public areas were immaculately kept. A really unique venue in a wonderful part of the country. Rooms were all very clean and nicely decorated. The dining... More

Visited for a wedding, and experienced two key failures. When we asked to pay for drinks by credit card, they initially refused to fetch the card reader, and were very curt to my partner. When I saw other guests touching the meat in the buffet with their hands (yes, picking through it like jumble sale), I told a member of... More

Stayed here on a groupon deal. Polite, attentive staff, clean and tidy room and good full English breakfast. Hotel quite charming with some old world features . Lovely location to explore Leicestershire. Would stay again.

We stayed here one Sunday evening at the May Day Bank Holiday on a Groupon Deal. It was the first weekend of my husband's retirement and I just wanted it to start right for him. When I rang to book it I thought it was a little strange that they close down totally on an Sunday evening. They did explain... More

We stopped on Sat 3rd May for one night. the hotel looks nice and has a lovely beer garden. Our room was number 5(rooms are around the beer garden). The room itself was okay and very comfortable. Couple of problems though.Somebody had built a dressing table so high that it was level with the existing double plug socket. They provided... More

My husband and I had a delicious lunch here in Dec 2013 and he decided to take advantage of a room and meal deal and treat us to a night away. My stepdaughter and partner came too. Our room did not meet the promised description of de luxe although it did have a four poster bed. The other room was... More
