We have stayed here several times over the past 5 years, Mary & Hugh are lovely hosts & consistently go the extra mile to look after us. the beds are comfortable , the rooms cosy with lovely little touches and of course the Strand Bear. We particularly love the breakfast hampers which waiting for us after our early morning waterski...

We have stayed several times at the Strand House, and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. We have stayed in the old and new rooms each have their own quirks and foibles, however we refer the new Rye Bat Cottage, and the last 2 times stayed in the Battle Hill Suite, with great views over towards Winchelsea beach ( last...

Great location, great views, great room, great food! Great for doggies too! We stayed in the Hastings cottage room which had patio doors and great views to open countryside. The food was amazing, we had breakfast and dinner. Great location for Rye and the surround area. Mary & Hugh couldn't do enough for us.

We've just returned from a delightful stay at Strand House - we all felt extremely welcome including our dog. Thank you to Mary and Hugh. Our room had the comfiest bed we've ever had when staying away from home - we often struggle as our own bed is extremely comfortable. In the bathroom, White Company toiletries were available and a...

Just stayed at the strand house for two nights and it was a really cosy welcoming b&b. would recommend it to anyone. If you pay a little extra you can bring your dog (which we did!) which is always a bonus as it's sometimes hard to find places to stay which allow dogs. Overall, very nice place to stay.

Saturday, 28th of march 2015, We didn't know what to expect, arriving late afternoon in Winchelsea. A charming house, although located on a rather busy road, we parked our car and rang the doorbell. Mary gave us a warm welcome, showed us to our rooms and let us choose from the menu for dinner, later that evening. The rooms, each...

We were unsure whether to book a 4 star hotel in Rye (comfort zone) or chance a couple of nights in a Winchelsea 15th century B&B. Well we made the right choice choosing Strand House. The room although small was quite unique & comfortable, breakfast was excellent and hosts welcoming. An ideal location to visit Rye and surrounding area.

This proved to be such an excellent choice! I've visited Rye and Winchelsea on multiple occasions and stayed at various local B & Bs, and this is by far one of the best. If you want the sleek sterile comfort of a chain hotel, then the Strand will not please, but if you would enjoy the adventure of sleeping in...

We visited Strand House for a two night weekend stay - it was great in all respects. Brilliant location so close to Rye and the amazing coastline and sandy beaches. We had our dog with us and were made to feel very welcome - the welcome was extended on Saturday night when Mary cooked the most delicious meal for a...

We have just come back from a 2 night stay at the wonderful Strand House Hotel and had the most fantastic time. Mary & Hugh are such welcoming hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The dinner on Saturday night was excellent and breakfast equally impressive. Our room was so gorgeous - full of character and the most comfortable beds...
