Dear Karen s. Thank you for choosing the Hermitage hotel, Aoraki Mt Cook for your recent stay. It was fantastic to read that you loved our amazing location and your room with a great view. January was a great month for nice weather and with the backdrop of snowy peak it gives a magnificent contrast. I am extremely happy you...

We stayed in the motel accommodation for a couple of nights. We arrived in driving rain, with the views of the mountains completely obscured. The reception staff were helpful giving us information about meal times, directing us to where we would be staying and lending us an umbrella! The motel part of the complex is a short distance from the...

Spent several nights here in January and highly recommend this hotel. It is in a superb location and from our room in the Wakefield Wing there were superb views of Mt Cook and as night fell a great panorama of stars in the night sky! The rooms are clean and extremely comfortable, there were two king size beds in our...

The only positive thing one can say about this hotel is that the locations and the views are really nice. Beyond that, it's difficult to say what is worth between the poor service (especially in the Panorama restaurant where it takes hours to get a meal with incredibly small portions), the quality of the chalet who probably hasn't been renovated...

Dear Balthazer M. Thank you for taking time to share your recent experience. However it is disappointing to hear the shortfalls in some aspects of our service. The chalets are a popular option for many of our guests and though they were built several decades ago, they have undergone refurnishment on several occasions. I am also sad to hear that...

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful hotel for two nights last week. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had an outstanding view of Mt. Cook. The hotel has many activities and there are some nice hikes nearby. The Panorama Dining Room had outstanding a la carte dinners. Don't miss this hotel if you are traveling on the...

Weather permitting the Hermitage gives you simply amazing views of Mount Cook. The Alpine Centre shows interesting documentaries, and has ample historical information on Sir Edmund Hillary, his epic climb of Mount Everest, and his enduring love of Mt Cook. The hotel is moderately expensive for what you get, but this reflects its somewhat remote location. I do not recommend...

We have continually stayed at the Hermitage since the 1980s and you have not spent a cent since then. Please upgrade your rooms. They are tired and shabby , and all your furniture is too. Far too pricey for the sort of money we paid. A reasonable rate would be at $350 not $650 for superior room. Your Panorama Restaurant...

We stayed at the Hermitage for one night on our self-drive tour of the South Island.
