On Sepember19th I attended "A Taste of Ireland"event with a companion and stayed overnight at a cost of almost £400.The welcome was effusive-the receptionist even offering to carry my case. The superior Vernon room was certainly that-spacious,comfortable with a great view of the Peak District hills-on a par with any international hotel i have stayed in.The evening lived up to expectations... My husband and I stayed at Baslow Hall for one night in June after a visit to near-by Chatsworth House. Our room was extremely comfortable and modern..a beautifully renovated stable. The ambience of the property and the exquisite grounds were unforgetable. The meal was worth a journey! Hopefully we will be back!

This restaurant is set in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. The occasion was my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary. I had booked well in advance and as there were eight of us dining we were offered a private study to dine in. As we can be a little loud when we get together this was the best option for us. We were... More

We stayed for a night to celebrate our anniversary. Had the British tasting menu which was dish after dish of beautifully presented delicious food. Service was slightly slow between a couple of the courses (took just under 3 hours start to finish) but it added to the sense of occasion! We stayed in Longhaw, one of the "cosy doubles". Although... A lovely friendly greeting on arrival, immediate attention from the excellent staff and very comfortable surroundings. This was a family lunch on a busy Bank Holiday Monday, but as usual, nothing was too much trouble, from a welcoming coffee through to after lunch coffee and treats on the lawn! The food was excellent. Prepared to your liking and served with... More

We stayed here for one night on the way back from a short break further south. We booked the Rutland, which was a superior room looking out over the beautiful gardens and consisted of a bedroom, bathroom and sitting room. However I probably wouldn't book this again as the bedroom and sitting room were separated by the bathroom in a... More

We stayed here in August 2016 for one night, the room was well sized and nicely decorated with views over the gardens. The building is from approx 1900s but designed to look much older (1700s). The building is well back from the road and set in lovely surroundings. Breakfast was great, properly cooked and like all the food we ate... More

We had a couple of nights here with friends quite specifically for a restful experience as one of our party is recovering from a serious illness . The location and setting is perfect..beautiful gardens and really cosy house, with other rooms in a separate more modern section. The hotel , probably because it was built as a private house, is...
