We ate twice at the North Wairoa, once for dinner, and once for lunch. On both occasions, we were extremely happy with our meals. The hotel is 140 years old, a relic of more prosperous times, and it retains a ton of Victorian charm. The grand dining room is reached via a plush lounge with fireplace, featuring overstuffed period furniture....

Great restaurant but that was it. Hotel rooms were not very good. Was not told that music started at 9.00 and finished at 00.30. The noise outside after was terrible. Left as soon as we could in the morning. Never go back again. Also recommended by tourist office!!!

We took the "meal of the day offer" fish and chips. It tasted very good but it was so rich. We left 3/4 of the batter on the plate, but we still got an indigestion. I guess it is OK and very good if you are used to it but not for inexperienced people with fat as we are, We...

We often come here for their lunch special, which is a very good sized meal for $12.50. The staff are very friendly and as I am gluten free are always happy to accommodate my needs. I had my wedding reception in this room in 1970 and to be honest I don't think the decor has changed since then . It...

Lunchtime specials on, Dinners not to shabby either pending on how busy they get there. Have had da steak meal, Fish n Chips, Pork Belly with tamarind sauce, spare ribs, and Lamb Shank meals. I...

We had lunch here on a Sunday. We each ordered the kumera soup and a main which was probably overkill I would have to say the soup was superb - this is from a meat lover who was looking forward to a rump steak for mains!. I would travel back to this hotel just to have the soup again. The...

Walk the old towns main street and view the shops that have catered for the local farmers for generations and see the kauri gum memorabilia here and there on an enjoyable stroll. Step back in time a little and go see the old Northern Wairoa Hotel with its grand staircase and wonderful dining room open for lunch or dinner and...

A unforgetable meal experience. Value for the price! Good quality food and nice service! Deco is a bit old but pretty clean! A lovely place for lunch or brunch when visiting Dargaville!! Close to the river lookout area and a nice stop during a day excursion to Dargaville.

We went to this Lovely place for Lunch. Big meals, great service. The building was amazing on the inside and on a winter's day it was warm and inviting. We had a good sit down meal and did not feel rushed and had a one of the best pub meals that I have had in ages. I am looking forward...

A large group of us had lunch here as part of an outing and knowing lunch was only around $12.50 I have very low expectations. How wrong was I... The service was excellent, the food was lovely, and we didn't have to wait long. No fuss, just good old fashioned food and service. Don't let the yesteryear feel about the...
