We stayed for two night's with Marg at Poet's Corner. The bedroom was well equipped, bed very comfortable with a good shower. The guest's communal area was stunning, comfortable sofas with a TV, dining area and very well equipped kitchen with a well stocked store cupboard and fridge. Bread was freshly baked every morning and Marg!s homebaked cakes were delicious!... More

We had a lovely stay at Poet's Corner in November, 2012. We were provided with some great tips for exploring the area, but to be honest, the dramatic scenery and the hot-tub, fireplace, heated floors, delicious tea selections and comfy couches made it pretty hard to make it beyond the front door! The INCREDIBLE breakfast (even made to meet my... More

This is an amazing lodge, absolutely stunning value for money. The hosts Marg and John and friendly, welcoming and make you feel at home in their lodge. The setting is perfect, with a multi-million dollar view. You have to see it, no photo can truly show it. The breakfast is great, Marg is a magician in the kitchen and there... More

What a find this was! Marg and John are the perfect hosts. I am torn between wanting to encourage everyone to know this place, and keeping it for ourselves. We are already planning to return with our best friends, and to stay longer. Do not turn down the offer of breakfast. I didn't need to eat again until late evening!... More

John and Marg were the perfect hosts! This accommodation was by far the best during our stay in New Zealand and a perfect way to finish our holiday. The attention to details, from bed turn down, putting on soft music and the fire in the lounge area, to homemade cakes and slices being available at any time, were better than... More

There is little to add to the other five star reviews. This purpose built BB should truly be the model for every other BB. We would return in a minute, and we plan to recommend it to all our friends.

I fully endorse recent comments. The guest rooms are comfortable and the views from the communal room are wonderful. Fridge is stocked with drinks and cheese for the peckish and thirsty. Wifi available provided it is used sensibly. Evening meal was divine. Visitors' book worth a read as guests are encouraged to write a poetic entry. Very good advice on... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Poets Corner. We were so grateful to our hosts, Marg and John, for their warm welcome and the bottle of champagne in our room to help us celebrate the start of our honeymoon. The lodge is in a beautiful spot, high up on a hill overlooking the sea. We had delicious... More

The hosts Marg and John were delightful and very helpful. Marg made us an amazing dinner at their lovely home. The guest house has 4 units and a common living room with full kitchen that is for guests use. The rooms have no view but the living room has a lovely view of the forest and grounds with a distant... My husband and I stayed at Poets Corner at the beginning of a month long trip round New Zealand and Marg and John set a standard here that was not bettered elsewhere - excellent though the other lodges were.
