Few weeks back I stayed at Bamboo retreat for three nights.Such a nice peace and serene place. If somebody wanted to stay away from the hustle and bustle of your city life then this is the heaven created by god THE BAMBOO RETREAT with lots of positive energy. I highly recommend this place to every traveler visiting Gangtok.

I have just stayed five nights at the Bamboo Retreat. I was not feeling well for two of these nights and the concern and caring of the staff in general and manager in particular was astounding. It is a beautiful hotel. It takes about 45 minutes to get into Gangtok. It involves shared or private taxis for about 10 dollars...

We had been to this place in Feb 2017. It is a little deviation from Gangtok route, so note that before hand. This simple place gives u the best experience. The manager Suraj is so co operative and helping. The rooms are clean ,food is good. Overall experience was simply the best. I would surely recommend one to try this...

The place is so calm and quiet and you can enjoy the nature .things are neat and modern and they showcase the culture. The food and service was good. We initially got a room with no TV. we requested and the manager suraj was so kind and provided us nice apartment room as complimentary. The place is little away from...

I loved everything about this place—the dreamy location, the clean and comfortable rooms, the cozy fireplace, even the little puppy! But what really stood out was the staff. They are truly incredible, unforgettably wonderful. The staff accommodated our requests for local meals in the Lepcha style, even the interesting millet beer and moonshine-like local alcohol. It was amazing to read...

Loved the experience at this hotel. Truly relaxing and secluded from the hubbub in Gangtok — but close enough for day trips to monasteries and other sites close by. The food cooked by the staff here was also excellent!

The Bamboo Retreat is a little jewel - full of charm and truly magical. Surrounded by Tibetan prayer flags, t's set on a forested slope across the valley from Gangtok, with views of the snow peaks, so there are plenty of walks including to Rumtek monastery, the seat of the Karmapas,Tibet's oldest lineage. The rooms each have a balcony, a...

It's one of the finest stay experiences I have had so far. The place is set up away from the hustle bustle and right amidst the nature. Infact from the hotel one can see the entire gangtok city and snow clad mountains on top of that. The staff is fantastic and so is the food. The thing I loved the...

First thing first- this hotel is located in Rumtek (7 Kms from Mayfair hotel, 16 kms from mall road-Gangtok), not Gangtok. Bamboo Retreat is an excellent hotel located in peaceful location, far from noise and pollution of vehicles and people. The rooms are (color theme based) nice and clean with balconies having 2 chairs and a table with a view...
