The Grand Hotel, stands on the once Royal Canal, and overlook seagoing trawlers as they unload their catch along the quays. The hotel was undergoing renovations during our visit. . A journey back in time to the gilded age of the Belle Époque, a period...More
A couple of meetings done in the fabulous glass roofed atrium in the centre of the building. Had to go find a waitress on each occasion, dim lighting doesn't do the space any justice and was asked to go to the reception to pay the...More
I did not like this hotel, seems grand from the outside, but it isn't at the inside.
We booked the last available room, overpriced, as it had no outside windows, frontdesk should have proposed a bargain price..
We could'nt lock the door from inside, bathroom...More
An interesting experience. The Le Grand Hotel is attractive and on the waterfront. Although a little tired, it has fascinating decorations. The lobby atrium is a great place to enjoy the Hotel breakfast and to stop by later in the afternoon to join friends for...More
We arrived by bike from Marseillan on the seaside bike path which was very pleasant. Finding the hotel was a little tricky because the harbourside road is split into
2 one way streets.
Once we found the hotel we were shown our room (#102) which...More

Yes, there is car parking although limited a few doors along the river front from the hotel, it is cramped, but secure, from memory, it cost around 10€, but worth it. We didn't book a car park when we booked, and got the last one, so ask when you book. We also found a nice chinese restaurant across the river from the hotel, it had it lanterns on and we could see it from our hotel room window. I would also not get a river front room if you want a good nights sleep as it was noisy. But a lovely hotel with an amazing breakfast, I also think they have evening meals too, which we would try if we ever stayed there agin.
Hard to give the perfect answer as there are so many rooms, but in general the first floor canal side are the best with a great view although they can be noisy as the main road in the town is also on the same side. The rooms... More
Hard to give the perfect answer as there are so many rooms, but in general the first floor canal side are the best with a great view although they can be noisy as the main road in the town is also on the same side. The rooms on the south side, first floor are very good, but again, street noise in the daytime. North side rooms give onto rooftops.
If you don't like your room, ask to change. I did and they did and I got the 108, perfect ! Enjoy your stay.
