A hotel located at the top of a large hill having amazing views of the surrounding areas. During the summer the hotel has an open aired pool and jacuzzi which is a great touch. The hotel restaurant serves great authentic Italian food. Make sure to book ahead. Rooms are nicely decorated with a modern touch. Please note that this hotel is on a large hill so walking up and down is not possible. A car is required to access the local towns etc. for restaurant/shop as the hotel is pretty remote.
We enjoyed staying here. We especially loved sitting on the lawn, overlooking the valley and enjoying a chilled bottle of local wine! The restaurant dinner was fantastic, but make reservations early. The breakfast buffet was diverse and delicious. The room was very quiet. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because the wi-fi service was almost non-existent. These days, travelers really rely on good wi-fi.
This was a really comfortable and nice 4 star hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpt us a lot of recommendations of things to do and places to visit. Room was always very clean, however we had a balcony facing the woods and the 3rd night we noticed we had ants in the room, this was the same morning we checked out so don't know how they solved the issue. View is stunning from the hotel. Breakfast is delicious. We liked that we got specific towels for the pool. Pool area was ok, however there was a huge problem with wasps so we didn't want to spend to much time there which was too bad since there was around 35-37 Celsius..
Came with my wife and friends for a vacation. The place is located on the top of a hillside. The view from room I very nice. The rooms are nice but Basic facilities. The service is ok and friendly. Nice pool.
We travelled two couples for a stay in the Alba-region, visiting wine-producers and enjoying the area. We were so happy that we by luck (and TripAdvisor) found this hotel. Quiet surroundings, helpful and service-minded staff and everything else to our satisfaction.
I was hoping to be in a castle, yes the restaurant is in the castle but the hotel is a more resent building. The rooms are modern minimalist with fabulous views over the valley. Very quiet. The breakfast is in the hotel and was very basic. Also no tea making facilities in the room.
Stayed here on a business trip to the nearby bottling plant. Long way up a very steep hill, but what a view. Very friendly and helpful check-in, room clean and well laid out. Decent bed. Good shower and nice towels At in restaurant next door that evening - wonderful (see separate review) Pleasant breakfast next morning and check out very efficient Makes a lovely change from chain hotels.
We arrived early but they quickly finished making up a room for us. In the meantime I asked about whether lunch was a possibility. Normally the restaurant is not open at lunch, but they had a group for lunch and offered us a limited menu, from which we had delicious agnolotti and a salad, wine and coffee for about 35 euros. That evening I was talked into Tortellii Parmigiana which turned out to be medium ravioli-style pasta with only parmesan as the stuffing. They had turned up the sides to form a small pocket which was filled with butter sauce and had truffle shavings in each pocket. (Yes, I liked it). Room was great, the elevator descended to the parking lot level, so handling bags was effortless, none-the-less the young lady who checked us in helped to load the bags onto a trolley and get us in the elevator and to our room. Breakfast was fine, if a bit crowded on the weekend when they were full to the brim. My only gripe was they had one of those lousy multi-beverage "coffee" machines. But the breakfast waitress must have seen me make a face because suddenly she was at my side offering to make me "a real cappuccino fro the bar." She made us each one and then did a repeat later on request (no charge; which I've found is usually the case if you ask a breakfast). Room and bathroom were fine. Wifi was iffy and slow (I don't understand why Italian hotels - and I'm talking about Emilia and Piedmont - have mediocre internet service). Even when stable, our experience was that it was slow. The only exception was an apartment we rented in Bologna. As it turned out the same young lady who checked us in was on duty a couple of nights later and provided our entire group of nine with hot and cold beverages from the bar, and also involved advice on grappa and beer. So pleasant and helpful.…
Excellent team , great service, good location thanks to the whole team for an exceptional service. We all appreciated the help with the restaurants , Stupinigi and other reservations during our trip well done.Best regards Theo
Fantastic view, great staff and nice food and wine. Located on a little mountain, and visable from the whole area. Great food and nice rooms (with view). Nice and helpful staff, and a variety of local wines. Recommended!
