The Hideaway Cabin is just that, in the rainforest. Clean, comfortable, good facilities on site, lovely helpful receptionist. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the Cabin had a fridge, kettle, toaster and attendant paraphernalia. Paid WiFi in main complex.

At first, I was still apprehensive about this place because it's like in the midst of a forest and there is no internet connection on my phone. However, realized this place is actually very cosy. They sell data wifi card for $5 nzd for 100gb. Yes. Gb, not mb. However note that only the reception hut and the main hut...

An amazing getaway in a remote "off the grid" rainforest, blessed with the serenity only nature can provide. The cabins/lodges are an old fashioned slice of American hunting huts, with record-players and pictures of burning fire places blu-tac'd to the actual fireplaces. Grab a beer, or glass of wine, and watch the world float by which happens to be out...

Te Nikau retreat was a lovely little cottage attached to a YHA accommodation. It was private and well separated from the other areas so it was pleasant enough. The facilities were what you would expect in YHA so nothing to write home about, but for a reasonably cheap one nighter it was fine. The manager of the site was very...

Lovely rooms spread through beautiful woods close to the beach, and only 3km from Punakaiki rocks. You couldn't find anywhere better than here for a relaxing stay, a quiet oasis in woodland , the only sound that of birds or the breeze in the trees. For an extra treat bread and muffins are baked fresh every morning. Local attractions include...

If my wife were rating this it would be lower purely because the bathroom experience was poor, as I note below. So I guess this review is slanted a bit more towards a guy’s vantage point. I loved how private the cabin was. Basically there is a main cabin and then trails that connect all the cabins through the woods...

We stayed for one night and would have liked to stay longer. Down a quiet road from the main highway this hostel not only has shared accommodations but you could also rent a small cabin. We stayed in the shared accommodation and had a lovely room. The kitchen is spacious and sitting at the table feels like you're at home....

We stayed here for a night, and wish we'd stayed longer! We stayed in the Te Nikau house, and had it to ourselves. Magical craftsman wood house, lots of windows, tucked in the forest. My four year old loved walking the trails everywhere and loved the house. The beach down the way is breathtaking too. The kitchen in the house...

There are parts I loved and parts I hated. I loved the clean spacious 6 bed dorm in the rata lodge, with its lovely communal areas and good well equipped kitchen. 2 good clean showers. A really different place to stay, would defiantly consider it a retreat. The beds where just mattresses on the floor but they were very comfortable....

If you were planning to stop in Greymouth/Westport/Any other non-glacier town in the West Coast, think again. This hostel makes Punakaiki your immediate first choice for a stopover. Eight minute walk to a stunning beach, and a 5 minute drive to Punakaiki, this multi-building hostel is sprinkled through the rainforest like candy. You can follow the adorable winding paths through...
