Just came back home from Jamaica and absolutely had a wonderful time. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. Every single worker was friendly and very nice. They couldn't do enough for you. The lazy river was the highlight of the week.
W spent 8 days at this resort and overall the bang for the buck was excellent. Some pros: We got butler service due to my wife recovering from knee surgery. MELISSA AND G took amazing care of us and it was well worth the extra cost. We also rented a poolside cabana each day which was also worth the price. The food was excellent-people complaining about the food are crazy and are picky fools. If you don't like what you ordered, they are more than happy to replace it with something you like. We had many many excellent meals. Our favorite was the Luna restaurant where we went 3 times to make sure we tried all the selections. Shout out to Nathan at Luna for the excellent service. Some suggestions: If you are not there to stay up late and party get a room NOT facing the main pool-there was loud music every night till about 11 pm. If you like to go to bed early, the view is NOT worth it. Try all of the restaurants for dinner and eat the buffet for lunch and breakfast. Have a great trip!…
I love Hilton and this hotel didn’t disappoint. It was clean and friendly. Beautiful views and a fun pool area for the kids. Service was great and they really try to make sure you are well taken care of.
This was our first trip out of the country since Covid. Prior to covid, we traveled abroad extensively. I read many reviews of this Hotel on Tripadvisor and was able to make a decision as to what was important to us: Oceanfront, Butler service, Cabana Service, A Suite?? We elected to have the private Taxi, which meant not waiting after exiting MBJ Airport. Michael from JUTA was waiting with a sign with our Names displayed Upon arrival, we went through Covid protocols of sanitizing hands and shoes. We checked in on a Sunday after a 3 hour Spirit Airlines delay. During this delay, the concierge was in constant contact by email. I have to agree with some of the complaints regarding checking in, it can be a slow process, but I was doing a lot of negotiating to confirm Oceanfront or a suite upgrade (paid) We settled on the Oceanfront room in the east wing and were not disappointed with the view. Unfortunately, we were given two queen beds instead of a king. This made the room feel a bit cramped. Also, not sure if it was due to covid, but there was no sofa in the room as depicted in many hotel pictures. The Ac was rather Nois and blew onto one of the beds, so we turned it off at night after getting the room cool. On Monday we had our first taste of butler service. The "A-TEAM" of Davian and Jerome took great care of us. Any location we requested was reserved for us with a nice towel display and a cooler of drinks. Restaurant Bookings were made and room request for cleaning or extra provisions was quickly taken care of. We think this is a service worth having especially if there are four or more in your party. Cabana service gave you a caban and all your meals and drinks orders were brought to you at one of the three cabana locations. We only used this service one-day taking advantage of the cabana nearest to the activities board. Room cleaning was advertised as upon request, but ours would have been cleaned every day unless we left a do not disturb sign on the door. Room service for breakfast was quick and efficient, especially if calling early around 7 am for us. On day 7 of our 11-night stay, I went back and negotiated another paid upgrade to a suite, this was the best four nights of our stay, you get a room nearly 3 times normal, three balconies, three AC controllers (quieter AC Fans) , two bathrooms. one large walk-in shower, large dining table, large sofa. The only thing I felt was lacking was a bottle of wine in the fridge and a dedicated modem as the internet connection has to be the worst I have experienced in a hotel stay recently. Your phone and tablet connection was dropped every five minutes and you had to log back in. A pc fared a bit better as I was able to enjoy an unstable 2-hour Zoom meeting. My wife follows a Pescatarian diet, so we loved the Seaside restaurant the best. During 11 days, there were only two meals that I chose and didn't care for, but you needn't worry about going hungry. We really should have taken advantage of orientation and therefore missed out on finding Crickets, a lovely coffee, cake, bar, and TV lounge combination next to the photo stand on level 2. Yes, I will be going back to Rose Hall especially if there is a group of us. There were many on Honeymoon, families with children of all ages at the resort, but at my time of life, I no longer care for listening to Marco-Polo at the pool. I am Jamaican and visit Sandals Ochi often. I believe that if you take the time to show respect and learn a few names of the staff you will have a wonderful time. Much love and respect to th A-Team, Ashley, O'Donnel, Joy, Oneitha, Coleen, the Towel girls, Moonstone Hostess, watersports team, the gardener who gave us Aloe and Picked Coconuts for us, and many more who made my trip enjoyable. My Title for this review made reference to Covid. In this area the hotel Excels, None of the Sanitizer bottles were empty and there are quite a few. Sanitize before entering and leaving the elevator, only five are allowed. Masks worn 24/7 by ALL members of staff, even on a Hobie cat a couple of miles offshore. I am a Hilton Diamond Member and booked 4 nights twice to get a free day, plus an additional night to ensure a direct flight. Make sure to get the correct Diamond members concessions sheet, as I was given two different ones. The perks for diamond change often, so things like a free cabana or the percent discounts change due to times and seasons. Spirit Airlines, Never again, we had to Deplane at takeoff time and wait three hours while they located a first officer for the flight.…
