Turned up at 18:00 this evening as per the booking made the day before on smartdiner.co.uk. All the lights were off and the front door locked. I went back to my car and waited for my brother, who I was meeting. He arrived at 18:05 and I tried the door again. I'm not sure why I bothered because the lights...

Having read the postive Tripadvisor reviews, we expected a good hotel. The staff were excellent, very helpful, and they even tumble dried our clothes after we got soaked in a torrential thunder storm. The cream tea on arrival was lovely as was the evening meal. However our room was awful. Room 5. It was very damp....it was below ground level...and...

Having read a few mixed reviews, it was with some trepidation that we entered the hotel but no worries! We were bowled over by the friendliness and willingness to please of Penny, Mark and all their staff. The public areas were very spacious and relaxing, which more than made up for the small size of our room. Our bed was...

My sister booked to stay two nights at the Hopper but had to give back-word due to unforeseen circumstances. Notice was given to the hotel within the allowed time. On arrival at the Hopper on the second night she and her partner were told that no room was available in a rude and unhelpful way. They had to seek alternative...

Just returned from a two night stay here and can honestly say 'WOW', you walk into a wonderfull atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. An 'Old' Coaching Inn springs to mind. The room was spotless with a great shower!!!! Only ate one evening meal (due to plans) but for us both the food was perfectly cooked and well presented (Saturday night was...

What more can I say....this is one of the best places I have stayed for many years and I have traveled extensively. From the moment we stepped through the door we felt extremely welcomed. Nothing is too much trouble. The decor and furnishings have been stylishly thought through. Penny and Mark (owners) should be very proud of their achievements in...
