Stayed one night, surprised room key was a physical key bot a card, and only one key available for the room. The lobby lift was out of order (but was fixed by the time we left and had to use what felt like a small service elevator.

No complaints with the room, but like most hotels, only have small water glasses. I went to ask for a couple of larger glasses and was told the bar/restaurant was closed until 8pm and the receptionist (the only person on duty it seems) did not have access.

Next morning, breakfast was not great. The only egg option was hard boiled!!!! They did have sausages and bacon, but both looked so unappetising that we passed on them.

Location wise, it is not in a great area of La Linea, a 10-15 minute walk to the main areas past some unappealing buildings, but obviously thereā€™s not much Marriott can do about that.

We have just came back from this hotel after staying for a week, the hotel is just a 20 min walk from the border and it's a nice walk along the marina to get there. Rooms are spotless the cleaners there do an amazing job the reception staff are lovely and very friendly cannot fault any of them. If I had to pick one thing to improve on is to show the kitchen area your room keys everytime before ordering food or drink as another visitor used my room number to order a breakfast and a dinner the receptionist didn't charge us luckily and was nice about it. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Nice hotel
Well located.
Park along the street instead, it was easy to get parking there and you save 11 Euro per night.
Breakfast was probably a joke. Worse than breakfasts are in the US. There is no hot just cold food. If you want eggs, bacon or something else hot, you should not take this hotel. But as I said, it is very nice near the beach and takes 20 minutes to walk to the border. We took the car and parked on an alley for free, so we did not have to walk.
Think about bringing the passport otherwise it will be complicated.

When it comes to AC, which more or less everyone has complained about, that's right. It is substandard in the rooms, which they should be able to fix. Had they been better breakfast and AC which was better they would have gotten 4 in rating by me.

The staff were friendly and helpful. And I can forgive the reduced facilities offered such as restaurant only open for breakfast & evening meal. Reception area was clean and tidy. The rooms still use a key but we did feel a little unsafe with no inside lock, and there was no room safe. The room was rundown and in need of a makeover. The laminate flooring was coming apart, headboard broken, damp patches on ceiling, mould in the grout, bathroom sealant & around taps, extractor fan in bathroom not working and hadnā€™t been cleaned for some time and the AC output was to weak to make a difference. There was a small TV in corner of the room, only news channel was in English. The drip tray in the mini fridge was brown (would normally be white). The bed was pretty old and has some cover on to hide itā€™s age but it was comfortable if you like a medium firm mattress. The continental breakfast ticked the box but wouldnā€™t win any awards, it was like you steamed the bacon & sausage. Thereā€™s a small pool, water looked clean, the area around was generally clean even though it seemed to be shared with the smoking area. Hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the border or a few minutes by taxi which will cost ā‚¬5. There is a supermarket just around the corner most stuff at a reasonable price. I felt fairly safe on the coast road and 1/2 street up from the coast but wouldnā€™t recommend walking higher streets after 9pm. Uber is available for rides & food but I suggest sticking to local taxis.

Cockroaches in the room!! AC was not working. On internet rates as 4stars but in fact it's a 3 star (mentioned at the entrance).
Very noisy, you can hear neighbours moving chairs. Very outdated, was refurbisched, but a lot of black fungus in the room, loose wallpaper an plaster coming from the ceiling.
Strong cleaning smell in the room. Probably to disguise another smell
Very slow internet, every 5 minutes we had to login again.
It's a very bad neighourhood. Nasty types. We had to run for a pittbull.
Unless you like beating cockroaches don't go there.
I was used to have high class at Marriot, but this was a very big disappointing experience.
I dont understand the high ratings.

Later I saw a rating with the same problems. I'm glad we are not the only ones.

We are visiting family in the area and decided to stay here based on a recommendation from a local .Its two minutes from the Gibraltar border , set just back from the bay , the staff are lovely and friendly and the rooms are clean with housekeeping in daily . The breakfast is buffet style from 07.00 to 10.30 . Dinner is from 20.00 to 22.00 with room service also available . We would definitely book here again

This was the third time that we have stayed at the hotel. I was impressed that, when we checked in, Pablo looked up which room we had last time, and he then kindly upgraded us to the same room on a different floor.

The hotel isn't amazing, but it's like an old friend, because you know what to expect. The staff have long memories, and remember guests who have stayed previously, even more than two years previously, with a welcoming approach.

The hotel is convenient if you have a car and want to be close to both Gibraltar and some nice empty beaches. It's also a short walk to the centre of La Linea, where there are plenty of bars and restaurants.

The only improvements would be safes in the rooms instead of having to leave valuables in safes next to reception, and please add some English-speaking television channels, for which you don't even need a satellite dish, being so close to Gibraltar. I mentioned the latter in my review two years ago, so I'm disappointed that this still hasn't been done.

We stayed at the AC Hotel towards the end of the pandemic and the hotel was making every effort to do its bit. If you can get a room on the front as you will have fantastic view over the bay of Algeciras and Gibraltar. The hotel is about a 15 min walk from the Gib border so probably just too far if you are thinking of walking from the border.......but a taxi is only 4 or 5 euros.
The pool was closed so cannot review that but the rooms were clean and nicely furnished, but the bed hurt.
We didn't eat at the hotel, not even breakfast, just around the corner were Spanish bars with much better coffee and in the evenings we did the 10 minute walk to restaurant La luna (on the beach) or into the main square.
Enjoy you're stay.

We came 4 years ago and we left with a good inpression. But clearly this hotel is not what it used to be, mattresses are beyond their life time, you ll feel every spring, paint is peeling of the ceiling in our room, and you can hear the neighbour's shouting across the walls or loud TV at night. Electrical plugs weren't functional and the USB plug in the bed head was slow charging our phones, we ended up charging our phones in the bathroom.

The hotel caters to passersby, workers coming in town. Staff is friendly and room was very clean. It is a cheap and cheaper alternative to a stay in Gib but this place is reaching its end of life

We paid 132 euros for 2 nights, barely worth this price

The hotel is a bit away and public transport is conspicuous by its absence nearby. When you enter the hotel, you are met by a tall flight of steps. If you have a heavy bag, you have to lift the bag over it. Once you are inside the reception, there are also about three steps up to the elevator. If you are disabled, old or weak, this is not a hotel you should choose.

The reception staff were nice and I was able to check in a little earlier than advertised. Plus for that! The room was quite large and had a working air conditioner, which was however turned down when I arrived. There were various toiletries to choose from in the room, such as toothbrush kit. The view was okay. However, you could hear sounds both from outside and from the corridor, which lowers the rating. The sounds you heard were people talking.

I would consider staying here again, but would not recommend anyone with a mobility impairment to choose this hotel.
