We have stayed in this hotel on several occasions already, it nearly feels like home. It lies very conveniently up the hills just above Ribadesella with absolutely breathtaking views. It has a large private parking and a big garden area. It is great for kids with wooden swings and such and our furry friends are also welcome. There are even kennels available where our beloved pet can stay, while we go for dinner, and the hotel dog "Softly" is always pleased to entertain her guests. Inside we find a spotlessly clean place with lovely decoration, a mix of antiques and traditional Asturian artefacts, with a cosy area to enjoy a drink and a room where to enjoy a game of cards or pool. The rooms are spacious, with comfy beds and a large flatscreen TV. All sort of bathroom amenities are available. Breakfast is very good and you must try the home made sponge cake. Our hosts Eduardo and Silvia are most gracious and more than happy to share their knowledge about places to visit or where to eat. If you want to enjoy your dinner in town with some Asturian cider or Spanish wine, a taxi to town is only 7,50 Euros.

This hotel is wonderfully quaint. Nestled in the slopes above Ribadesella, it offers beautiful views of the countryside leading down to the river and the sea, but also of the mountains behind. The hotel is rustic and filled with interesting and quirky artifacts: a bicycle, old typewriters, music related antiques and pictures. The rooms are basic (the shower was so powerful the water would tend to shoot out past the curtain) but fully functional and the whole place is very clean. Eduardo is a true host being both courteous and informative - we all liked him very much. The very sweet dog was an added bonus!

This is a beautiful rustic hotel. The owner has been here since 1999 and the hotel is filled with many antiques and thoughtful touches. We had the suite, which gave us plenty of space and beautiful views. Just about any window on the property can do the same. We enjoyed sitting in the front room by the wood-burning stove just watching the river ebb and flow with the tide. It is an old building. There are not many outlets to charge devices. There is no table and chairs to eat a meal. There are no tissues (not good for allergy sufferers). Only one trash can, in the bath. No fridge. The shower was small, but the hot water never failed although it needed occasional adjusting. The shutters close out all light, which let us sleep amazingly late. Eduardo, the owner, was very friendly and helpful about sights to see and places to eat. His wife is responsible for the tasty sweet bread that became a favorite at the breakfast. This was a very relaxing stay. The road is narrow and winding in places, but perfectly manageable. We even stayed an extra night. I would come back here any time.

We stayed at the Paraje for one night on our way to Santander airport. I wish we'd stayed longer! The room was beautiful with stunning views over Ribadesella. The owner is really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I'd also recommend having dinner at the hotel as the food is delicious! Five stars from me :)
