Keeping in mind that this is not a 5-star joint, we found this place to have both good and bad aspects: The good: The inclusion of a continental breakfast was nice, it was a small selection to choose from for breakfast items but being that there are very little eating options in Bella Coola we did really appreciate this gesture.... One overnight for grizzly viewing and supplies. Comfortable rooms and good cold breakfast. Pretty setting in the rain forest. Friendly and helpful staff with good local advice. Easy access to all the activities.

Yes you want to see a grizzly bear. Yes you want to float down that river as you watch it eat that salmon. Yes you are coming to see this amazing creature in the most beautiful setting in the world. But trust me there's so much more to it than just seeing a bear. Professional guides Fraser and Holly from... More

Made last minute reservations and was pleased to get a room. Nice building, rooms a little old school but very comfortable. Not much lodging in the Bella Coola area to choose from, especially last minute. We meet some very interesting people on the deck in the evening which was a big plus. You will need transportation of some sort as... More

We visited in August during beautiful weather. Really enjoyed our boat trip down the Atnarko River that was lead by professional, friendly and knowledgeable guide (Fraser) who is also part owner of the Lodge. We will be back! Our TV was ancient but who is there for the TV?

This place has no idea what the word luxury means. Here goes the list... Walls are paper thin, you can hear what everyone is saying and snoring in the rooms next to you. Which of course makes it not quiet. It is also on the main road. Toilet seat was loose, wiggles when you sit on it. Fan in bathroom... More

This is a nice place with excellent staff. The room was spacious and clean. However we were in room 8 and there is a common sitting area just outside the window. Notwithstanding the hotel's signage, you still have to ask some guests to be quiet at 11 pm onward so you can sleep. So tip would be to avoid this... More

My grown sons and I spent several days here in August, touring the back country and seeing the bears. Our room--enormous with an eat-in kitchen and lounge area--was dorm like but fine. The country around is spectacular, dramatic, unforgettable. The bear safari is great.

Rooms are large and clean, beds incredibly comfortable but it was a little tired. Damp, musty smell (which may be a consequence of the damp climate) but the place could do with 'freshening up' generally. Although the room has a little kitchenette, there is only a microwave and bare minimum of everything. Given its a drive to the only restaurant... More

The BCML is a brilliant place to stay if visiting the area. The rooms are wonderful, with everything you need including a kitchenette. The bed in particular was big and comfortable, just what you need after a day out exploring the beautiful surroundings. The owners were friendly and helpful and I would stay here again without question.
