The room is clean and tidy, with great bathroom amenities.
our first rooms air conditioning is not working, so they change the room with working air conditioning. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can find some great restaurants and great deals around the hotel.

Compared to First World Hotel and Resort Hotel, Highland Hotel appears to be a better hotel. It provided free wifi in the room (Resort Hotel provides wifi only at the lobby while First World Hotel does not have free wifi). It also has a coffee machine and better toiletries. However, the room which we were given is a little dated and is in need of some repairs. The floor to the bathroom is slightly damaged and the door to the bathroom does not close properly. The rain shower, though in working condition, has some defects. The hot water takes about half a minute to get warm. The room does have an air conditioner (the other 2 hotels do not have).

In terms of location there are lots of eateries near the hotel which is good.

Service wise, staff is polite but due to a particular incident we felt that they do not provide the necessary support beyond the basic needs. On the last day of our 3-night stay, the wifi is not working. We called the general line and was told that they will send a housekeeping staff to take a look. We explained that we have been able to use the wifi on our iPhones and iPads the last 2 days but are having problems connecting to the wifi on the 3rd day. 2 of the staff came and tried to help fix this by checking 2 of our iPhones, looking at settings etc. this did not fix the problem. I reiterated that it is unlikely due to our iPhones or iPads as we have been able to connect to the wifi. They went back to seek further help. While I was in a meeting much later, a staff called to update on the wifi situation but as I was in a meeting I can only speak to them later. After the meeting I called the general line and ask to speak to the housekeeping staff but they said they are unable to connect me to them as their telephone system is unable to ,link, to housekeeping. The staff said that they will get the relevant person to call me but as I was going out I requested that they can just leave a note in the room if needed. Instead I was asked to call back when I am back in the room so that they can get the relevant person to call me. They cited the reason that they cannot get into the room, which is surprising since housekeeping has always been able to get into the room so long they is no DO NOT DISTURB sign is turned on. In an case, the staff managed to contact me just before I left the room and infrormed me that their IT staff advised that I may want to check the settings on my iPhones. I expressed surprised that if I have been able t access the wifi for the last 2 days it should not due to the settings on my iPhones but should be due to their wifi issues. Eventually I told them it’s fine since I can use my data plan on one of my iPhones (which is what I did when I was attending the meeting in the room earlier). This incident points to the lack of due service of the staff or due to miscommunication between their departments (housingkeeping / IT) with regard to the information I have provided. It does gives an impression that ‘due service beyond merely providing a room’ is not one of their objectives.

If one is not bothered with services, Highland Hotel in Genting is considered a reasonably good stay.

Maxims Hotel were previously Highlands Hotel. Had a hiccup with the check-in as the staff mention that in their system stated we are from Mainland China and change our hotel without even noticing us till we had reached there. Firstly, we are not from Mainland China and we had key-in our Nationality during booking. Check with Trip.com live chat and they says they do not disclose customers particulars to hotel while hotel also do not know what had happen in between when our names in the booking clearly understand that we are not from there either. Lastly, go through up and down and a Male Hotel Manager (could not remember his name) settled our issue swiftly. Room were satisfactory. Bed are too soft and "sink in". Pillows were soft. Sound Proofing were terrible. We could even hear next room voice speaking clearly, do not even need to mention the corridor areas where people talk and children running around hence did not have a good night rest after a long drive. Shower drainage and pressure were good. Hotel lobby has Starbucks. In room do not have night light. Once you off, everything were off except a small light in the toliet. TV signal off and on itself. Cleanliness were satisfactory. Nespresso in the room. There were mini bar as well.

The design of the room is spacious and child friendly.

Check in process is no nonsense fast and direct . No queue up for me which is something I prefer for current pandemic situation .

They prepared me a baby cot without my request which is a very positive courtesy .

There's a wine chiller in the room too so you can chill your wine according to the temperature you prefer . Besides , they also provide fruits as complimentary gift and my son love it .

All the toiletries are well prepared including Listerine , so no need to worry about it , just bring yourself will do .

Things to improve :

The TV inside bath tub room should be improve as the reception is pretty poor .blurry imagine like it's 1990s

My card failed to read after using few times but they solved the issue for me immediately.

Overall extremely satisfied with the room , facilities and services provided.

Stayed here from 21-23 Oct in room 16320.

It’s been years since I came to Genting. With a toddler around, we looked for a bigger room to stay. Thus booking the executive king. Which is one of the best decisions we made.

Room were very clean and comfortable. Came with a nice view of the cable car and mountains.

The executive king comes with a bathtub which is so good for family with children. Because they do enjoy the warm soak in the cold weather.

Bellboy was very welcoming when we arrived and helped us with our luggage to the room.
Front desk were very nice and welcoming as well. I mean I don’t really set my expectations high because I checked in at 2.30am lol. But they were really accommodating and happy to help us.

The only downfall was the breakfast. As our toddler was 18months old, they charge 70rm for another portion of food. Which I think can be looked into kids/child meal(like crocksford) where children below 5 have a small portion of chicken/plain porridge given. That will be best. I mean it’s not about the money, but it’s about charging a full portion and have to waste the whole remaining porridge for the little portion I take from it to feed my child. Or they could perhaps start a kids meal that we can pay for.

Other than that, all is good. We stayed both crocksford and highlands this October Deepavali holiday. I will choose highland hotel at any day in terms of service and the mere size of the room for the family.

We will be staying again in December holidays and we can’t wait!

During this pandemic, the hotel have their check in done by kiosk which made it so fast. Feel so secured and safe. Lobby staff extremely friendly and attentive. We feel so welcoming the moment we step in the hotel lobby.

The room we get is facing mountain, the night view from my room is Superb !! Able to see KL city night view !!

A must to mention is the hotel room is sanitised by the housekeeping and sealed which make it so safe for us to stay. Very clean room. Staff in housekeeping are friendly too.

Strongly recommend to stay in Highlands Hotel if you are visited Genting Highlands !! Definitely will come again this hotel. My Superb + Awesome stay in Genting.

We were invited by my brother to bring our kids for fun and the newly renovated casino. It’s been years since we been here.

My brother strongly recommend Maxims and this hotel just get Forbes travel guide recommended 2020 reward. Therefore we end up confirmed 3 nights stay.

However, our journey began chaotic and continuously for our first night and second day.

The hardware and layout definitely ready for international clientele. However, the software, especially Rooms Division from operator, front office etc need skill and service improvement.

We truly appreciate nice lady Ms. Regis. She is far efficient and proactively solve out our room night extension matter.

Megan and Rudy tried their level best to assist, just doubt in the front office system or skill training is in sufficient before put them on their job to face the guests?

Suggest Top management needs to focus on the training for line staffs task competency and performance. For example, how to view a room move, internal traces for room night extension and simplify the process. People make different service despite the casino hotel or a typical hotels.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and the high quality of service and attention to detail remains. The staffs is amazing, the rooms have been comfortable and immaculate.

The only thing that needs improvement, in my opinion is the price of the food you need to pay is quite pricey for family with many children.

Overall, our stayed at Highlands Hotel is superb!

This is the first time I stayed in Highland hotel , the very second you stepped into the room, the comfort of it creates resistance for you to even considering stepping out. The view of my room was facing the cable car and the mountains. So impressed and the feel of freedom and luxury. Highly recommended room.

Overall the stay was very enjoyable with a beautiful swimming pool and fully facilitated gym. The staff was very kind and attentive to our requests especially when we requested for a simple decoration for my brothers marriage proposal.
The person in charge was very helpful as they assisted us for the room deco. I would like to name a few such as Eileen and Joanna and of course the duty management team who went the extra mile to decorate the room when they emphasised that it will be very simple as they don’t usually do such arrangements.
Although we arrived late due to traffic issues, the team constantly kept in touch with us on our arrival time to ensure everything was ok. They instantly recognise us upon arrival and immediately arrange for us to the room to decorate further. It was a great experience coordinating with the team, my highest compliments to the Genting management team for their kind efforts and the proposal was a success!

None of the rooms in Maxims come with breakfasts because Maxims itself does not have their own main dining hall. Breakfasts are all separate and are found in the adjacent hotel that has breakfast dining room with some indian food
