We stayed in late July 2020 for 2 days 1 night.
We got room 11565. There was a musty smell in the room. There is no shower curtain in the bathroom and there is a leakage at the shower head so we have to get ‘creative’ whenever we shower. Also they did not provide any basic toiletries eg: toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo etc. So we had to request for it and the slipper bed too because the carpet was a bit dirty when we walk barefoot. With that being said I can’t say the same for other rooms as this review is solely based on the room that was assigned to us that we book via Agoda. Personally I’ve better experience with other rooms as this was not the first time I stayed here and I would expect the room conditions to be a bit better knowing the Resort World brand.
Just a suggestion, the hotel should have at least a discount on the parking rates for hotel guests because RM17/day is a bit too pricey and we got a mediocre room.
The only thing good is the location is exactly in front of the GPO and easy access to the Awana Skyway if you want to go to the peak. There is also lots of grabcar if you are scared of the cable car.

The good thing is the room is quite spacious. it's clean and nice and comfy, so is the bathroom. although its a little far from the casinos in genting highland but you can catch a shuttle bus to and from awana terminal (skyway) which is connected to premium outlets. the breakfast was nice too. the bad thing is you wont get free wifi in the room since the free wifi is only in the lobby and in particular spaces, you have to buy the password. thats really bad since you pay approximately US$80 for the room. the staff is also giving you the 😶 face.. but when I had a little accident in the room, the operator gave me a nice service, sending me 2 securities to see me and give me some medicine.

Used to stay in this resort during my younger days and am happy to see it is still going strong with ongoing refurbishment and improvement. Now everything looks brighter, cleaner and more modern .
Deluxe room in the tower is spacious with 2 queen-sized beds and a balcony with a beautiful view of the hills and golf-course. The swimming pool also looks clean and inviting although I did not try it out. Had a lovely walk around the golf course in the evening admiring the conifer trees and enjoying the cool air.
Breakfast is not provided with the room but you can get simple buffet breakfast at a reasonable price at the Golfer’s Terrace below the lobby. We also enjoyed the steamboat dinner at Awana Garden Hotpot where the vegetables are all hydroponically-grown at the resort itself.
The only complaint is the parking which is charged to hotel guests . I would expect free parking for guests ! Maximum rate is RM 18 (above 6 hours) , so I suggest you try not to move out your car after parking and use the hotel free shuttle to get around, if possible.

I used to stay at this facility once a year. This is my 4th and last stay unfortunately as it’s getting worse and worse every year!
The kids club used to be active and clean but not anymore.
The parking used to be free but not anymore!
They charge you also for using the internet inside the room! Who does that in 2020???
I really hate it when I feel that the sole purpose of the hotel is to get more money in every possible way!
We already paid premium price for 2 night stay but that’s not enough for the cheap management!
They have 4 level parking space but they close it inside and outside unless you pay (see photo)
They have WiFi network but you cannot use it inside the room unless you pay (see photo)
Why?
You think I care about the 20 or 30 extra ringgits? I pay that as a tip in one day!
In the past, this used to be the hotel to stay at but not anymore. Luckily there are better options now
This should be only 2 star hotel for the services provided
Rooms are really outdated. Only soap in the shower area, no shampoo or shower gel!
Room service from rajawalee is bad. We ordered French fries and it was cold. We ordered mushroom soup and it was cold and not tasty at all. Flavors cafe is much better choice.

Very poor choices by very cheap management.

If you would like to experience rude staff make sure to visit this hotel. The hotel's website and chatbot are filled with misinformation.

The hotel's messenger chatbot says all our hotels have luggage storage, they do not. According to the reception staff none of them do. Also early check in means 2 pm and normal check in means 3 pm. However, you may sweet talk to one of the boys in the lobby and they may help, but the woman will refuse.

Please note that you cannot access wifi till after you check-in. So if you are waiting in the lobby to check-in and wanted wifi good luck.

Upon check in they don't show you where the lift is and assume you know your way around their hotel. They don't explain anything about breakfast. They do give you a survival kit which includes a burnt but cold cookie and two dental kits. When you enter the bedroom for the first time because the ac is off and the fan seems to be working or not it smells terrible and you may get sick. They don't provide bottled water but give you a jar to fill up and reuse and there are water coolers on the floor.

The room is of good size. However, what stood out was the dirty bedding with red stains.

The timetable for the shuttle is not accurate it says it's every hour on the hour but this not true. At best it's 5 minutes late so you just have to stand in the queue for a while. After waiting a small bus comes that takes about 20 people and the rest may have to wait 20-30 more minutes if the driver is feeling generous or the next hour.

Love the location which is near to premium outlet and cable car station.

Hotel was really clean and comfortable even with construction going on, friendly staff from concierge up to the restaurant including the room cleaning team, swimming pool attendance.

We experienced a smooth checkin and in fact able to check in as early as 7am (pay half night price)

Covered parking was just few steps away.

Had a great time having breakfast at Ayu Awana while enjoying the pool and there’s even a slide which is awesome!

Big breakfast + nasi lemak ayam berempah was superb accompanied by delicious latte!

Check out was a breeze.

We already plan to be back in near future to spend more time at the resort and experience dining at Ayu Awana, that’s for sure.

We enjoyed our 1-night stay at the Resorts World Awana hotel. I found the room to be spacious with a nice view. The shower supplied ample hot water and the bed itself was extremely comfortable and big. We were able to finagle the room fan and air con to establish a comfortable room temp and air flow. The breakfast was unusual but nice with ethic Malaysia dishes which were delicious. My only grip about the hotel was the room cleanliness. We found dust and dirt in the bathroom. That aside, this was a nice experience staying here and we'd stay here again in the future. This hotel is massive with a lot to see and experience.

Visited with 3 young children from Tuesday to Friday on an off-peak period.

They allowed us early check-in and when we got into the room, we noticed it was quite dusty and the floor did not feel clean. Drinking water came from a refillable jug which had algea growing on the cap. Mould was also growing on the toilet sink and shower area. The aircon remote wasn't working and we had to get the batteries replaced. The toiletries were minimal (just toothbrushes and cotton buds) and the shower foam in the dispenser had run out.

These could have been overlooked by us if the service was good. However, it was terrible. Over the three days, we called at least 4 times to ask for shower foam to be topped up. Nobody came to get it done. During breakfast, we paid extra for our kids' meals and just asked for a baby chair. After asking thrice, we gave up and decided to look for one ourselves (recall, this is during an off-peak period). Worse was when my kid ordered a pomodoro from Ayu Awana and I found a thin piece of plastic in the plate which could have been mistaken for tomato skin. When I alerted the staff, they promptly removed the plastic with no apology, compensation or anything.

Seriously, the service we received here in a branded 4 star hotel was one of the worst in all our travels.

Stay somewhere else if possible.

The room was nice and clean. However, we were faced with many problems during our stay. The hotel provides no luggage services, meaning that if you want to check in early or want a place to put your things, that’s not possible. It’s also in quite an inconvenient location if you don’t drive as grab is very dependent on your luck to get to the premium outlets or Genting highlands. We once waited 30 mins to book a car. The hotel do provide shuttle services but it’s in 1 hour intervals. The worst thing was that the lifts broke down during our check out day. The staffs were not helpful and only picked up the calls after repeatedly calling them. When I successfully got on a call with them, they said the lift is not working and then hung up on me. The problem only got solved after getting through to concierge and then the supervisors. They escorted us down via the staff lift which the front desk previously mentioned that they don’t have. Overall, I won’t recommend if you are staying with family but might be ok with friends/partners.

Our stay in Awana Resort in Genting Highlands in Malaysia was awesome. I went with my mother, wife and elder son. Our room was on the 28th floor. We could witness clouds from our rooms. The rooms were very comfortable. We loved the swimming pool. My son swam in the shallow swimming pool for the children with warm water. I loved the complimentary breakfast with chicken dish, omelette, chicken sausage, tea, coffee. The room had iron stand. We used it. We loved the golf course and other amenities of the Resort.

The Resort Awana room type are 2 queen size bed or 2 double bed. Each bed able to accomodate 2 adults for my family . (We booked for 2 adults and 2 kids). If you booked directly from the hotel website or their apps. They don't bother how many people can squeeze into the room. they are willing to give the 3rd and 4th towel and toiletry up to 4th person. if you request more than 4 person towel or excess toiletry, maybe it is too much already.
