even though I booked and stayed on a non smoking floor, I still get cigarette fumes into my room. Hotel has smoking floors, meaning smoking is allowed on these floors. So when the hotel ran out of smoking floors, where do the smokers go to? Noticed that the hotel waste bin has no trash bag, and the staff simply emptied the waste bin and returned the bin to the room for the next check in guest! This is covid19 period, so imagine the previous guest actually spit into these bins, or dispose their wet tissues with mucus into these bins? The rooms were cleaned super fast, so I honestly doubt it has been properly sanitised .... yikes! The towels were old and with stains and holes that I had to sacrifice a T-shirt to dry myself, because reception does not pick calls after midnight (yet I was told room service is 24 hours ...) Someone must be sleeping. Visited the First World Plaza, SkyWorld Avenue or whatever, basically the Mall ...well I did all I could to avoid the indoor theme park. Reason is, the cigarette fumes from the casino is so strong that a good part of the indoor theme park is passive smoking zone! Even the second floor area. I do not see how the family and kids could actually enjoy themselves taking in all the second hand smoke? The irony is, the casino was supposed to be non smoking ...i mean if one has to be mask on all the time, how to smoke? Basically the enforcement is ZERO! I saw on few occasions, people just smoke openly, even under the non smoking sign. Food is, expensive and very little of Malaysia. Instead, I see a lot of Japanese and Chinese (China type, not Malaysia local cuisines type) food. I visit Malaysia for its food, its local flavour and specialties, so it was very disappointing. And all shops are the same as those in Kuala Lumpur or any major city, so it was so boring!…
We booked online for a one night stay opted for king size bed room and was informed to check in at 3pm. However when we arrive at receiption counter we were told to wait as they need time to check if any room available. We waited for almost an hour before our room was confirmed. Most disappointing was that we were not entitle any complimentary carpark voucher reason given was that carpark run by 3rd party. We had no choice but to pay SGD25 for the overnight carpark fees. Moreover the room which we booked also not entitle for free breakfast. Lesson learnt, in future we should ask if guest were entitle for such complimentary.
like its name, genting Highland. the property is at top of Malaysia Land. with the most largest hotel in the worls, the traffic for tourist so amazing. even the room is quite small buat anything is in here. wanna play in theme park, amusement or even Casino. Jusr do it
This hotel has been around since 1986. It was opened then by our current King. I have been back at this hotel many a time, as the surveyor's association has had meetings at this hotel. My sister's crazy "after wedding trip" with her in-laws, relatives and family. Our family trip too when our kids were toddlers. This is the reason I can comment as I have seen the standard drop further. Having said that, our room on the 25th floor had simply breathtaking views at dawn and sunrise. We stayed at this hotel for 4 days and 3 nights this time. The air-conditioner in our definitely needs servicing and it dripped water all over both outside the balcony as well as inside our room near the sliding door. I was not going to waste my day waiting for maintenance to repair or service the air-conditioning. We did not have housekeeping nor was our coffees and teas replenished. Good touch with the Expresso coffee machine. We had to call housekeeping to send up towels, and then toilet roll as it had run out! Great thing no mosquitoes on the 25th floor! The meals were nothing to shout about. I will not complain much though as I did have some nice desserts! I must commend the polite and honest staff. The concierge in charge was kind enough to call the foot reflexology guys. The body massage sessions were suspended due to the pandemic. The masseurs followed the hotel's SOP and I found the view soothing while we got our foot massaged. Do give it a go. We explored Gentings like we never have! Exceptional walks around the property with exciting things to do for kids. Introduction to the many butterfly species, glamping, plant a tree for a loved one, night walks, bird-watching are some of the great ways to introduce our young kids to nature at its best. It was a lovely 17 degrees Celcius. We had a hefty parking fee though, but of course that's Malaysia for you.…
If you are in Genting there is a good chance you do not want to spend any time in the room except may be to crash for a few hours, there is just so much to do in Genting Now about the hotel, I haven’t checked but this is supposed to be the biggest hotel in the world with over 7000 rooms Most rooms are small but comfortable enough. Do not be bothered by the negative reviews There are hundreds of kiosks for self check in and even if you reach early you get a room fairly easily You will have to walk a little to reach your room but it’s not a v big deal The lobby is beautiful you can have quite a few pics Rooms are small with smaller washrooms and little space to walk but that is still value for money There is a casino on the first floor and a paid dining on the 4th for breakfast The hotel connects to an indoor theme park and a lot of other attractions as well Would love to stay here again if I do happen to visit here again …
Will always be here for the old school indoor arcade whenever I am in Genting highlands as this place holds alot of childhood memories for me. There were a great collection of different video games and we love to play carnival style game stations where we can win soft toys. Admittedly, the quality of the prize probably wasn't that great but we are here more for the experience.
there are lots of things to do in there, especially the casino. there are heaps of shops and hotels which you can choose from. theme park games have various options. you can spend whole day without getting bored.
Most of the good thrill rides in indoor theme park were not working, for example roller coaster, Sky glider, etc. The place is slightly overrated, however GENTING highland is a better place than KL. For nature lovers it is advisable to spend more time on hills rather than wasting time in resort world.
This is our 2nd time staying here. I prefer to stay here instead of First World Hotel because the room is bigger, the hotel is less crowded, overall it's more comfortable. Ample parking space available too. Price is reasonable especially if you stay on weekdays or book earlier. Very easy to walk from Resort Hotel to Sky Avenue Complex because it's connected so it's up to you to walk via indoor or outdoor. The room is very spacious. Basic hotel amenities are provided, electric kettle, cofee, tea, cups, shampoo/shower gel/soap is the same (3in1). Room also has iron and ironing board. Room tip: Request for mountain view for a beautiful view of the mountains, outdoor theme park and cable car. We were lucky that both of our stays we got the corner room which has 2 windows so we get to see more beautiful view outside and more cold Genting wind can come into the room. Please be aware that there is a charge of RM5 per room if you want to check-in before 3pm. …
With the new and improved Genting resort, my trip was enjoyable not only for me but also for the family. The new mall gave a premium ambience with many branded shops available for visitors to go to. Food-wise, on average all the restaurants serve delicious foods!
