I spent 2 nights here and what a pleasant surprise. Yes new owners trying the hardest to make it a really nice place and it takes time. I had no issues in getting a room for 2 nights even thought it was a busy weekend. This is on the main highway and so easy to find, not so far out...

This is a great motel to stay at in the area. It's just out of town. The rooms are clean. The breakfast and lunch is great. The staff was very friendly. I travel to the area once a year. Last year I stayed in town at a different place. What a mistake. I'll be staying here again next year.

My room was pretty small, but the price is one of the cheapest in Sioux Lookout. The other complaint was that there was no air conditioning, which was a problem with almost 30C temperatures in early September. It's a little bit of a drive to downtown and the airport, but the other places in town aren't that much closer anyway....

Great price. Great food. Good service. Terrible room. Hair dryer didn't work. One hole in the wall. Can feel bed-springs. Shower barely works. Towel bar bent up. Cleaning staff do a half-assed job. No cable TV.

I was put into a smoking room because I had a dog with me...one of the rooms at the back. It was horrid. Too badbecause the service was excellent but the room was so smelly and I could smell urine too.

I stayed here for 2 nights while catching the train east (one before and one after the trip) The staff was excellent, the room was good and the price was great. The front desk clerk was very helpful in making arrangements to leave my car there during the trip.

At first glance, the Lamplighter Motel might look like a real budget motel. And it is, in the real sense of the word. At $70 a night (the rate I paid in late September), it's a real bargain for the good quality room standards you get here. Very clean, spacious rooms, that had a nice, soft perfumed scent when I...

Although I didn't stay at the hotel I use it to accommodate traveling forest fire personnel who work for the company I represent. The rooms are all extremely clean and the prices are very reasonable. The hotel has a decent restaurant open early for breakfast until mid-afternoon. Prices were decent. The rooms are typical motel but none of my forest...
