Lovely location and beautiful bar and deck overlooking the beach. This is a really family friendly resort and always full not least due to the excellent food and friendly service.... Generous portions of super fresh fish all with a wonderful view.

I would rate this hotel as 3 star by most standards, but that gets offset a bit by the great staff, the location and the food, which is also good. We went here for a big birthday celebration with about 20 other folks so in that environment, it was great. We typically only stay in 5 star hotels, but I... More

A great atmosphere among fishermen . Not really a resort but a friendly place on a beautiful beach with a lot of friendly people . A must on the Kenyan coast for keen fishermen . A cool place to relax and enjoy the Indian Ocean

Ocean Sports is a brilliant place to stay in Watamu. The location could not be better, right on the beautiful white sandy beach and a few minutes by tuk tuk to Watamu village. The place has an easy going charm about it and is very well managed by Florian, a French chef from Bordeaux, who is extremely attentive, as is... More

An excellent place to visit and experience Watamu. Amazing fishing opportunities just across the reef and an awesome atmosphere. I visited for the fishing and have made lifelong friends along the way. See you there!

Stayed here over Easter so I could do some diving and a friend could get her basic dive qualification. You could see the sea from our rooms and the views were beautiful. Rooms were large with huge beds and good basic bathrooms and a small dressing area. Is was a bit faulty towers as the air on kept over heating... More

We did not lodge at Ocean Sports, but we met one of their staff members on the beach, Moris, who asked us if we might be interested in windsurfing, which we were, and after that the rest is history. We visited Watamu in the low season and it quickly became our base for adventures (amazing glass bottom boat tour/snorkeling and... More

We stayed at the Beach House. The cottage with four bedrooms accommodate up to 8 people. The house was next to the beach, unbeatable location in terms of proximity to the water. House great and clean in particular bedroom and bathrooms. The only exception was the kitchen, small and very bad compared to the rest of the house. Service and... More

Local, and traditional, yet welcoming to strangers who wander in from up-country. A popular watering hole for the Kenyan Cowboy crowd, unreservedly friendly, no shortage of character. The kitchen is quite accomplished, exceeding expectations. Authenticity, old-school, for those who do not slavishly follow the latest in beach trends. As is so often the case in Kenya, it is the people... More

The plaque on our famous 1952 bar boat states "Ian Pritchard sailed his boat through the reef and staked his claim right here. Cheers Ian!" And so the legend of Ocean Sports was born. Our ambiance is relaxed, friendly and barefoot chic. Frequented by a loyal following of East African residents and savvy overseas guests, many consider this being their second home.Located 20km south of Malindi Airport, within the protected Watamu Marine Reserve, our 30 rooms, suites and self catered cottage overlook Kenya's favorite, white sand beach. Our outdoor, ocean-side deck dinning venue is simply stunning! Freshly caught, sustainable seafood and local organic produce, inspired our French chef, Florian's new mouth watering menu choices. Delicious stone-oven piazzas and a 'daily specials' board, ensure something for all. Nature will nourish your soul! Our 14 acre plot boasts indigenous African fauna and wildlife that includes monkeys, bird-life and night bush babies. Low-tide reveals rock pool aquariums of sea life, crabs and even King George, our grumpy resident Moray eel! Turtles, dolphins and whales are observed further out to sea.Our name reflects our love of ocean activity and adventure. Deep sea fish with our professional charter boats to experience adrenalin hook ups. Blue water dive over sparkling coral reefs, all organized by our PADI scuba centre. Try kite-surfing, kayaking and boogie boarding - the ocean is your playground! Onshore we offer trail-biking, tennis, squash, hokey, beach volley and touch rugby.
