An unplanned overnight stop between Edinburgh and Suffolk. Weather was so dreadful we needed to stop. Such a good pick! Really friendly staff. Very comfortable and a delicious breakfast! Great fun! Vera was such a good host!

Olde pub..... Still seems to going strong, decent pint for a real ale or larger..... Has a strong local contingent, similar to the black boy ( myself being a regular pint pot holder) heard good things about the bed and breakfast side..... Always seems to be full.... Which can't be a bad thing at all....

Good beers that are very well kept with sensible pricing. The staff and owner are always freindly and helpfull. A nice place for a quite drink. All in all a decent traditional boozer that offers accommodation.

I can only reiterate the previous positive comments. How many more times can 'Vera' be showered with praise? The lass will 'cook your bacon' to perfection - in the nicest possible way. Well worth a visit, but don't all rush as I expect to be there again soonish and I don't want to hear her say "Sorry, no vacancies"

Stayed at this CAMERA listed pub in Retford for 3 nights. The owners are extremely friendly as well as the 'locals' in the bar, itself. The rooms were quiet large and we had en-suite facilities, but I understand not all rooms have. Very clean. Little noise from bar but main road is a tad noisy during the day. Breakfast copious,...

This unassuming public house hides within its walls lovely B&B rooms and very welcoming hosts. We stayed just for 1 night for a family get together and were made to feel very welcome by the hosts and the customers. The twin rooms are very spacious with en-suite showers, heavenly bedding and an excellent breakfast waiting for us in the morning....
