In a nutshell, great hotel!
Rooms could be called open plan shower and loo all in same room (with doors) very spacious, beds and pillows comfortable. Nice patio area towels soft and big,
down side of room storage all hidden behind curtain hanging space not to bad, but only 3 shelves one you could not really reach.
Dinning area very nice contemporary. Food was very nice plenty of choices themed nights 5 out of 7. breakfast was also good.
Pool area was nice at first glance, more sunbeds required 3-4 which i saw were ripped so could not always get a bed. pool was nice could do with a good clean, plastic decking around pool got very hot to touch and was coming away around pool. had to go past smokers area to get to toilet so got mouth full of smoke.
There is a roof top terrace with dip pool jacuzzi again more beds, and then more seating at night. this was a lovely space that had a nice shaded area.
Entertainment if you call a dj playing music that just went on and on house music i think it is called all day whilst you are relaxing. then have the same type played up stairs on terrace at night.
Staff were very nice helpful and polite. how ever around pool area staff were very slow when ordering food or drinks,
This hotel is let down by the pool area no tea coffee in the rooms. Also lack of variety of music played to cater for all nationalities.
Although we found Player la Palma has more of a German representation we would diffidently return to this resort.
From check in to check out, we felt like we were VIPs the staff were attentive but not intrusive. They went above and beyond and did everything with a smile on their face. Polite, professional and one in particular very comical!
The rooms are compact but immaculately cleaned every day by the lovely housekeeping team. The bathroom is more open plan, which we didn’t mind and we barely spent anytime in the room to be fair. Modern decor and good facilities.
We went half board but only decided to dine for the evening meal 1 evening as we wanted to make the most of the local cuisine…. The offerings at the hotel were good with themed nights 5 days a week from mallorcan to asian! We normally skip breakfast…not in this hotel, it was incredible. Fresh delicious food, incredible smiley staff.
We also decided to eat lunch most days and can I say, the burgers are to die for!😍
The hotels pool and rooftop pool are so relaxing with live music of the weekends which added a great vibe. We specifically went to the rooftop every evening before we went out for a beautiful cocktail without fail! Of the weekend we went back to the hotel early to listen to the Live DJ on the rooftop who were all incredible.
I don’t think the prices were too unreasonable on drinks in comparison to the beachfront. We didn’t mind paying the prices for the service that was provided with it. The food prices were very reasonable…if not too reasonable for the quality provided!
I have never been to a hotel I genuinely never want to leave. The staff make this place. Special thanks to Claudia and Allendro (think that’s correct) who really boasted the hotels quality of service. Was also a gent quite tall who really stood out to us as being so hospitable. Sorry we didn’t catch your name.
Working in Hotel Management ourselves, if we had key members of our team as above, we would be very very proud.
Thank you all for an incredible ,memorable holiday. We cannot wait to return in the future.
The positives
The bed is comfy
Plenty of hot water
Good service around the pool and at breakfast
Room cleaned well each day
2 mins to the beach
Good DJ on 2 afternoons
Nice rooftop bar
Nice choice of poolside food which isn’t too expensive
Negatives
The pool is very small
The sunbeds are close together and there isn’t enough of them
The decking area gets very hot
You have to enter the pool via old style swimming pool steps which meant I couldn’t go in the main pool as I had a leg injury. Most pools are easier to enter but as this one is small it’s not.
The hotel doesn’t get any sun around the pool until 10.30 to 11am and later in some areas
The hotel is next to a very noisy road so relaxing around the pool is not so easy.
Courtesy shower room is not able to be booked after 6.30pm (not great when you have an 11.30pm flight)
The Wi-Fi is terrible and doesn’t work at all.
It’s a functional hotel which is 10 minutes from the airport so handy for a long weekend break.
The pool is a good size on the ground floor but in need of a good clean, there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for guests. The rooftop deck has fantastic views and a nice cocktail bar and again double sunbeds all facing the beach; the pool however is very small which I was surprised at from pictures on the website.
The location of the hotel is great if you want to stay outside of Palma city centre itself and has a bus stop outside the hotel for the city centre which runs every 5 minutes. There’s plenty of local bars, cafes and restaurants around the hotel all within walking distance. There is also a good beach facing the hotel.
Big shout out to Tupac behind the bar, he’s super friendly, always smiling and interested in you. Ronald and Nick get a mention too for taking the time to have a chat with us.
The other staff seemed a little bit unhappy especially the front of house team and it would be great to see a warmer welcome and big smiles from them in the future plus a welcome drink on checkin perhaps.
The location is fab for the beach, walks to Can Pastilla and the bus (or cycle) to Palma.
Stayed in Room 308, very clean and big enough my both my 6ft 4 husband and me. The beds, pillows and linen very comfy. You will need to know your room partner pretty well though as the bathroom, sink and shower are pretty much in the room opposite the beds.
Had Bf every morning and it was delicious with lots of choices.. coffee was pretty decent too
Ate once in the evening for $18 pp which was good value and tasty. There are so many fab places to eat elsewhere including Palma. The bus stop is a minute walk.
Spent most days by the main pool. Note: The Bali beds are €40 inc 4 drinks. The roof top pool is small and not enough beds or shade.
There was a DJ on both Friday and Sat afternoons & on the Friday evening on the roof top bay/pool. Otherwise the music by the pool varies from house, classical and dreadfully miserable jazz. I had to ask for it to be changed twice as it was dreary to listen to.
Unfortunately we arrived to a thunderstorm, of course no fault of the hotels, we took this opportunity for a nap following an early hours flight to Palma. Two members of the team proceeded to let themselves into our room whilst we were sleeping to check if everything was ok and if the air conditioning was working. Very concerning first day experience - their apology was then leaving a bottle of Prosecco in our room (which was still in the fridge on departure).
Each day we noticed the pool area was dirty - the debris from previous storm/rain was not swept from the decking and there was always dirt in the pool due to this.
On our penultimate day there was an issue with water in our shower and sink, we turned both on to find disgusting brown water constantly flowing that eventually turned yellow but was never clean/clear.
When enquiring with reception they simply said they were aware and a technician was on the way.
However they did not think it correct to notify the guests of the issue who could not even wash their hands? Following this I was severely sick - either caused by the disgusting water or potentially food purchased at the pool. My partner requested the gym to be opened just after 10pm in order to fill up water bottles as I was seriously dehydrated. The reception member said he was to purchase a 2.95 € 50ml bottle from the bar (clearly wouldn't be enough). He explained again how sick I was and it was highly likely to have come from the hotel as we hadn't left site that day. Begrudgingly she allowed access while shouting at him in the foyer and gym area.
The same member of reception was working the following morning at check-out, was fully aware of how ill I still was as I could not stand yet after repeated requests on updates for the arrival of our taxi they had ordered she did not bother to chase the taxi company for 1hr. My partner then hailed a taxi down outside to take us into our next (amazing) location within Palma Old Town.
I do not understand how they have retained a 4* rating for the fact alone they charge 3.50€ per night for use of the in room safe!
Supplied dirty towels and when I questioned at reception they really didn’t care
After paying for a premium room I was ready to overlook the air con vent but the dirty towels just took the biscuit. You don’t expect to pay £2000 for a week to receive such poor cleanliness
Pool could do with much more than a sweep around with a robot in the morning- grouting is all brown, floor is mucky and siding is falling off. Ayron park was much cleaner when we stayed and they are not an adults only. So much for a boutique hotel. Luckily the quiet location means it was better for us but I would go to one of their other hotels in a heartbeat
Pretty much the entire hotel is one big, stunning mix of relaxed areas to eat or enjoy the views. Most mention the roof bar and dip pool, we also found ourselves sitting up there, drink in hand, enjoying not having to rush anywhere. The main beach, playa de palma is a short walk from the hotel, it’s a lovely strip of sand and it was warm enough for us to have some days there. High standards and staff put this hotel on the map for us. We will come back.
