This was one of our more memorable stays in the Dominican Republic. The beach here is absolutely stunning. We've been to the Maldives and to Seychelles and we were surprised at how equally beautiful the beach at this resort is, without the need to travel around the globe. The resort grounds are beautiful, too. The food was some of the best we've had, with various restaurants to choose from, and the service was very friendly and attentive. The nightly shows were also surprisingly good. All around, an excellent place to stay in the Dominican Republic.

I booked on this hotel under the impression that you will find the Hyatt standard. Nothing is further from reality. After checking in we were the last to receive the room. It was frustrating to see how people who had arrived after us were given their room on the spot. The room was ok but the quality amenities was low. The food in restaurants is regularly poor. What saved our stay was the kindness and courtesy of all the staff we dealt with who do their best to help you and make you feel good. To top it off, at the time of checking out they tried to charge me an extra for a variation in the exchange rate of the dollar with respect to the Dominican peso and I explained to them that I had paid with my credit card denominated in dollars and that that was not my problem. The person I was talking to was constantly calling different people on the phone and in the end I almost missed my return flight because of the time they made me waste waiting for the checkout ticket. A shame because it has a very good beach. There are other options in the area like the Hilton where I stayed two years ago, and the difference is abysmal…

First time at the resort and took a vantage of all they had to offer, I am a wheelchair user and they made every effort to make things accommodating to my needs. There was an accessible beach chair. The resort staff was amazing and friendly, especially a gentleman named Louis and the bartender Fenel. Food was good, but I wish they had a few more Dominican food nights. Great weather, great people, and great trip.

The entire resort is beautiful. Mercedes our concierge was amazing as were the entire entertainment staff especially Bella, Superchampion, Cappuccino, Scooby Doo. The activities at the main pool were fun, exciting and well thought out from dance lessons and aerobics in the pool to and "iron man" competition. The shows at night are another attraction you don't want to miss from acrobatics to a Dominican show that kind of tells the history of the Dominican Republic. Can't forget about the bartenders who made the trip just as fun Claudio and Frank were a lot of fun to hangout with and the swim up bar and Disco respectively. Also don't miss the fun dancing every night at the lobby bar, I think I danced so much my legs hurt. overall an amazing experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who asked.…

Do not stay here at the dreams Dominicus, La Romana. Worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. Edwin Blanco the preferred club manager has been nothing but a joke and never has reached out to corporate regarding our problem or situation. We arrived for a two night stay and paid for a wonderful ocean front view when we arrived and we’re supposed to be checked in on time, at 3 o’clock, we were postponed for an hour and a half to two hours OVER our check-in time that we paid for and should have been able to get into our room at that time. Upon arriving to our room, we realized that the room was very hot and not cooling. We were assured that the situation would be fixed on multiple accounts. After trying to enjoy some of the hotel amenities and returning our room two or three times the situation had never been fixed after a long day at the beach and coming into our room, the room was extremely hot and we were unable to get dressed or ready for dinner because we were smoldering. Once again, we were assured by the time we returned from dinner that the situation will be fixed. Dinner was a joke. The food options were minimal as many of the restaurants were not even available to serve us. After dinner and dancing, upon arriving back to our room very late at night, we discovered that the room was still not fixed! It reached extremely hot temperatures. We were forced to stay in a different low level, low grade room and commute halfway across the resort just to get some sleep. At the time I was having asthmatic issues and was dealing with a cough, by the time I reached my room I was very sick and it is 2 AM now. The next morning they had not informed the cleaning crew on site that we were staying in that room and there was loud pounding very early , woke us up about 2 to 3 times. It was very upsetting to say the least. When we returned back to our room to get dressed for breakfast, the room still had not been fixed ! At this point, especially for the price we paid for an oceanfront room, we should’ve gotten that first night comped to us. It was about 12 noon that next day that the air-conditioning was finally fixed and I was able to go inside to enjoy our room for our last night. No one extended helping hand to really make our experience any better. The situation should’ve been handled by corporate after multiple email communications post experience, no one ever responded to us and never did anything to make it right. I will never stay at a dreams resort again.…

This is the third time I have been to this hotel, and it will possibly be the last. The registration process was extremely slow. The room we were assigned, 55-106, looked very good and clean at first, but at night we began to see small cockroaches that appeared in different parts of the room during the weekend. The room assigned to my children had an unbearable smell of paint, they were moved to another room that turned out to be occupied, until they were finally given a suitable room. The quality of the food is poor, it has decreased greatly compared to the quality it had on my previous visits. This is the only resort where you must wait in a long line to get into the buffet room (it's been a constant since my first visit, I was hoping they would have corrected it by now); It seemed to me that the cause was a lack of staff rather than a lack of space in the room. The restaurants, on the other hand, are very well attended and offer excellent quality food. Some drinks are only available at the lobby bar, which is a pain if you're at the pool or beach. Overall, I was very disappointed with the hotel, and I am very sorry to see the Hyatt name associated with this.…

Everyone is friendly and professional. Service is great. Entertainment is above and beyond and even interactive. We love this hotel and have vacationed here many years now with the same results of an amazing time and memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. Just celebrated my husband 50th and they made it incredibly special day. Our butler was Mercedes who is exceptional. she has been on butler the past few years and is always on point. Dreams LaRomana is a really nice resort. It’s not a party resort so if you’re looking for that then this is not the place. It’s a wonderful place for you to relax and enjoy with numerous activities on site. The restaurants are nice; I liked the World Cafe the best because of the variety. We had a lovely romantic dinner on the beach with all the works; it’s highly recommend. The people were very friendly and our Butler, Pedro went the extra mile by helping us plan a really wonderful anniversary meal; he even saw to our transportation to and from. He’s great. I highly recommend the resort and ask for Pedro if you can!!!

Dreams La Romana was a very relaxing place to stay. All staff from the restaurant, concierge, house keeping, bar tenders, entertainment, spa and those I am forgetting were super friendly, kind, helpful and always smiling! for me super ,so nice ,good food ,was helped by many guests and personnels From personal ,I m 85 and not to stable .been at the portofino very good food ,room quiet ,done 2 a day ,atmosphere family no drink in the pool real yearling .I d reeled , minus the beach too many chairs to closed no room to moved and a ramp to helped at the steps do go on the very small beach. but I d love my stay.
