Just back from 9 days at the Paraiso Grand in the Mayan Riviera (Feb. 15-24, 2024). This resort is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. The service/staff is exceptional, and many employees need to be praised for their amazing care. First place goes to our butler Miguel who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and special. He checked-in regularly and followed-up on any issue we had. He even placed rose pedals on our bed for our anniversary. The evening butler, Adrian, was pleasant and helpful as well but Miguel was more attentive. Next on the list would be Daniela in the Star Prestige Lounge. She handled problems immediately and followed-up to ensure that everything was taken care of. She is very efficient. Other Star Prestige Lounge honorouble mentions go to Violeta, Mauricio and Saray who also did their best to help us with any questions or concerns. Also in the Star Prestige Lounge were the best bartenders at the resort. We truly enjoyed the delicious creations that Victor, Sergio, and Alejandro made us – usually many times a day 😊 An honourable mention to Armondo at the Mirador who was attentive and greeted you with a smile. At the Star Prestige Beach we were pleased with the attention that Andreas (beach attendant) gave us and appreciated Lorenzo’s efficiency at keeping us hydrated. Hostesses and servers in the restaurants were mostly top notch. Shout out to Melchor (Venecia), Abraham Lopez and Enrick (L’Atelier) and Leonardo (Bella Vista). They were very personable and attentive. I must also mention the omelet station cooks, Rosa and Cristel, as well as the pool waitress, Eunice, who were all very attentive and efficient. Last, but not least, the Grand wouldn’t be the same without Viridiana, entertainment staff, who remembers everyone’s name throughout their stay. She is so bubbly and fun. Honourable mention to Alma, another entertainment staff, who was always pleasant and full of energy. All in all, we had an amazing time at the Grand. The resort, the room, the food, the spa, the golf, and most of all the staff, made this a wonderful vacation. The only negative experience we had was at Taki-To at the Paraiso Shopping Center. We went on our last day (Feb 24 at 4:15 pm) and one of the cooks was quite rude and unaccommodating to us and yet she was pleasant to a Spanish couple that came in after we had. She not only served them first, but she prepared them a meal-to-order but told us that we could not change what was on the menu and could have what was pre-prepared. We walked out and chose to go to the Burger Bar instead. The food there was nothing to write home about but at least the cook was pleasant and attentive. We couldn’t let this experience taint our vacation, but it did leave a bitter taste in our mouths after having met so many wonderful people who worked at the Grand. We do highly recommend the Grand Paraiso but suggest staying clear of Taki-To, unless you speak Spanish.

Hotel's Favourite
So many resorts share the same beaches, the same water, the same ocean, the buildings are constructed similarly, the weather is the same, so then what makes the difference between resorts? The difference is the people, the staff, and how they make you feel. At Grand Paraiso, they make you feel so welcome. The magic comes from the staff, not just the resort. I have been to other Iberostar Grand resorts, and they use WhatsApp to communicate between the guests and the butlers. So, I was a little concerned when we got to Iberostar Grand Paraiso, that we would have a team of butlers, but no way of using WhatsApp to get in touch with them. There was no need, these guys were always in the lobby of our building. We were in building 71, directly in front of the ocean. They would address us by name every time they saw us, ask how they could help, what we needed, how is everything going, did we need anything in our room? Did we need a ride anywhere, how was dinner last night? Were we set with our dinner reservations that night? Did we have any special requests for dinner? Our Butlers made a good vacation great. A shout-out to Ruben, Muriel, Luis, Antonio, and Gustavo. An example, one afternoon, my girlfriend wanted to see the Coati (kind of like a Mexican Raccoon), our butler told us where there was a family, got a golf cart and drove us over there, and then walked us down the path to see the animals. He explained to her different things about the animals. An example of going above and beyond. The Paraiso Grand was amazing and didn’t disappoint at all. We enjoyed everything about the Grand. We ate at every restaurant, and the food and portions were terrific. The feeling in the restaurants is that it is more than eating, you are “dining” at the Grand. The Italian restaurant was the best with some of the tastiest Italian creations, followed by the Japanese. The chefs at the Japanese restaurant put on quite a show, and we enjoyed the people who were at our hibachi table. The food just kept coming, so be prepared to eat a lot of great-tasting food at the Japanese. The French restaurant was also very tasty, the portions were a little small, but we had more than enough that we didn’t leave hungry. We ate at Tony’s, and I wasn’t impressed with my Ribeye, it was a little too fatty. I prefer more of a marbled cut. I also added the lobster tails, and they were so good. We did have the steak tartar as an appetizer, and that was off the charts. I would order the tenderloin over the ribeye on my next trip. We only ate dinner one night at the buffet, but we could see every day they would post the theme for that night. They changed the theme every night. You could skip all the restaurants and just eat at the buffet, and I think you would be very happy. The wide variety of choices would satisfy everyone. I thought that the food could be a little hotter (temperature wise), as I like my food hot, not warm. Let’s talk about the beach. Just Amazing. The beach was so pretty, the water was warm, and there was always the ability to get seats/loungers on the beach. Every day, they would run a sand vacuum across the beach, cleaning up all the seaweed. Very clean, the beach was picture-perfect. It was so relaxing to sit on the beach and just listen to the waves crashing. Since we were members, we had access to the Star Prestige beach area. We would get a cabana on the beach, and our server was Manuel. He attended to everything we needed, our drinks, lunch, towels. He was another example of staff who couldn’t do enough for you to have a great vacation. He was very attentive. We did go to the pool, and there was music and activities every day. It was a fun and happening area. In addition, there was a quiet pool towards the front of the resort separated by a building, that was extremely quiet. We never had a problem getting chairs at the pools. The resort had entertainment in various forms every night. At the lobby bar, there was always someone singing or playing an instrument. The bartenders were great and made amazing drinks. It was a great before and after-dinner location. Looking around the lobby bar area, you could tell that the crowd was a little older. Then there were nightly shows in the Lobby Garden or by the pool area depending on the weather. These were about 45 minutes and very entertaining, professional, and enjoyable. We had selected an Oceanfront Butler suite, and the room was great. The room could have a few more electrical outlets, but we brought a power strip to plug all our chargers into. The view from our balcony was like a postcard, no complaints. I could still hear the waves crashing on the beach, it was so relaxing. The maids were great, and they did a turndown service every night. The bed was extremely comfortable, and they had a pillow menu to select the kind of pillow that was to your liking. I can’t say enough how helpful every single person at this resort has been. My only regret about our vacation was that we only stayed 7 days, next time we plan on staying for 10 days.

This was our first trip to Cancun, and it was to celebrate our 35th anniversary. Iberostar Grand Paraiso was the most perfect vacation ever! Our concierge, Alex, treated us like royalty. He made sure all our needs were being met. Our butlers were always there when we needed something. Every staff member greeted us with smiles on their faces. Quite simply, it was the happiest vibe ever! Our room was on the first floor with a walk-out that was steps from the ocean. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. The room was quite large, with a sunken sitting area and a huge bathroom complete with jacuzzi tub, separate shower, separate toilet area and two sinks. The two closets were more than ample for our clothes. The food at all the restaurants was fantastic! Grand Paraiso is perfect for everyone over 21. We can't wait to go back next year!!!

My wife and I visited the Grand Paraiso for our 35th wedding anniversary. We had previously visited Grand Bavaro Punta Cana for our 25th and 30th wedding anniversaries. This resort seemed a little bit larger although we enjoyed the roominess it provided with two pools and ample beach lounging areas. Upon arrival at the property, we were quickly greeted and provided welcomed drinks, and introduced to one of our butlers, Angel. He took care of all our check-in and registration needs and brought us up to our room, which was spectacular. We opted for a panoramic beachfront room, which was situated on the third floor of building 70. I would highly recommend the panoramic beachfront as it was amazing to look out every day and evening, and enjoy the sound of the waves. We enjoyed lounging by the pools as well as the beach. Every day. We were there and appreciated the excellent service provided by Leticia one and two. I highly recommend you starting each day with a Dirty Monkey. We tried every one of the restaurants, including the buffet for lunch and an occasional dinner, and we’re not disappointed by any of them. Our overall favorite was L’Atelier, the French restaurant. We were able to visit there three times during our two weeks stay and we were totally blown away with the level of service that Abraham Lopez provided us. He was very professional and did his job very well, and was the best server we encountered the entire time during our stay. As for the dinner buffet, they have theme nights every night. We went two nights during our visit and would highly recommend everyone attend the Gala night, which was held on Tuesday. They had a wonderful selection of fresh meats, seafood, and best of all the lobster was in season, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Having said all of this, I need to take time to personally thank our butlers Karolina and Angel. Karolina has to be one of the sweetest people we have ever met in our lifetime. She was so genuine and caring and was able to accommodate our every need. We look forward to returning in the future and having another two weeks of wonderful bliss. Thank you again, Angel, Karolina, Abraham and Leticia uno y dos.

OK. We have been to Mexico more than twenty times, and the Grand is by far our favorite . My daughter just got married, so we gifted them a short trip, only four days in the Grand. They are both in the medical field and couldn't get away for a longer period of time. We've stayed in the Iberostar Lindo twice, and once in the Ibero star Tucan when my daughter was younger, so she kind of knew the Iberostar resorts which are connected . My wife and I stayed in the Grand three times and wanted my daughter and her husband to experience it as well. The Grand didn't disappoint, they were both somewhat overwhelmed. They live pretty modestly in Cleveland. The place is really nice and has a luxurious feel to it. Rooms are very comfortable and the minibar is always stocked nicely. Love the spa, great place to visit when it rains. The employees are wonderful. The food is really good. The buffet had some very nice sea food worth mentionning, you can load up on ham from Spain which by us costs $90 a Lb. The only warning to those considering to visit ,I'd say ,it isn't a wild party place. The patrons can be little older or young couples. They do have shows and variety of activities, but if you are single and looking to party and for hook ups , I think there are other more suitable resorts in Cancun. On the other hand if you want to relax, get some rest ,eat great food in a very nice setting, as far as the all inclusives go, the Grand is about as good as it gets.

I really like the Iberostar properties. Everyone works so hard and they are without exception happy and helpful. Shoutouts to Naddine (hostess), Elizabeth (hostess), Daniella (housekeeping), Alejandro (pool concierge), Elizabeth (pool concierge), Leticia (waitress), and Reynold (turn down service)!! The hostesses were always friendly and helpful and got to know us by name since we were there for 2 weeks. Daniella was in the restroom cleaning when I arrived and actually dried off the toilet seat she had just cleaned so it would be dry for me! Alejandro ROCKED the Star Prestige area! That man gives service second to none and can make a bed/cabana!! Reynold always went above and beyond for turndown service. Naddine was such a sweetheart! I'm going to miss them all. My only recommendation is to tone down the "hard-sell." Our executive concierge was extremely helpful and engaged until we decided not to tier-up to the next level then *poof* he was gone. The same thing happened last year with us too. Everything else was fabulous!

We enjoyed our stay at Grand Paraiso in February. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The service was excellent and, probably, the best we've experienced from all the all-inclusive resorts we've visited over the years. The food at the restaurants was pretty good. Though it was better at some restaurants than at others overall we were pretty happy with it. The buffet had a great selection of food, though they would benefit from adding a smoothy station. The evening entertainment, to our tastes, could have been a bit better. We like to dance but the resort's dancing activities start after 10 PM, which is too late for us, though, I'm sure it would work fine for a much younger generation. Because of this we had to rely on the music provided at the bar. Most of the entertainers at the bar were singers, providing a karaoke type of entertainment. Some of them could hold a tune and some could not. We think that the resort can do better in that regard.

Beautiful property - Tuscany set in the jungle. Food - many choices for white glove service and great meals. The buffet is the best I've ever experienced. Its a single serving style, with theme nights. The Valentines Night desert table looked like a Parisian patisserie. The staff truly make the experience. They are everywhere and helpful, and never intrusive - very professional. Personally I'd like to thank a few of them for taking such good care of us and making the trip so comfortable. Victor on the beach. Gustavo, Mauro, & Karolina who made sure we had everything we needed - every single day. Carlos who helped guide us through the various day and evening entertainment options. And my friends in the lobby & wine bar bar - Pablo & Daniel and the team. We are planning the next trip now. I rate the Grand the #1 resort in the Riviera.
