Terrible room. Terrible shower. Terrible breakfast. TV did not work. We only stayed here because nowhere else was available (thankfully for only one night). Only positive was the fan worked in our room. Stay here at your own risk but my recommendation is to AVOID!

Best thing about this place is the view over the Mekong. Accomodation is very basic. We lost power overnight (the whole town did), and this did not seem unusual. Surprising that the hotel did not have backup power. However all basic things are there that you need, eg wet room with low pressure shower, and aircon, including wifi although not...

We stayed for 1 night on the trip to Chinagkhong. 200,000 kip per night. I notice that the electricity was not so certain and it will be shut by 10.00 pm. It was hot and aircon work very weakly. not cold at all. . Room not really clean but any how we could sleep. Breakfast was omelet bread and local...

Earlier reviews had told us what to expect and most were pretty spot on. This place is about as good as you get in Pakbeng and we have stayed in worse elsewhere. Our tour company organised our cases up to the hotel but the steps up the road, that goes up to the hotel, are steep, uneven and a bit dangerous....

Sorry to hear about other peoples' experiences - we found this hotel to be basic but clean, up in the hills with grand views over the river and a short stroll into 'town'. There's recently installed air con but no safe - keep the shutters closed at night though (if you don't find it too claustrophobic) to keep out the...

This place is basically a mid-way stopover on a 2-day river trip from the Laotian border to Luang Prabang. If you can avoid the entire 2-day trip and the overnight stay here, do so - it is possible to fly to Luang Prabang. Though an hour's trip on the Mekong is nice, two whole days on an uncomfortable boat (seats...

I stayed here for 1 night on a group tour round Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. I was warned that this guest house was basic and I was prepared for the worst but I enjoyed my stay here. My room was small but cosy. I had a double bed, which was slightly hard with a hard pillow and the windows had...

This hotel is terrible, even by Laos standards. When opening the door into our room, we were welcomed by the chemical smell of insect removal spray. We weren't sure if we had turned the light on or off, because it's really dark with all the dark wood on the walls and floor. We noticed some geckos walking around the walls,...

This is very simple accommodation. The bedroom was clean but the shower room a little mouldy. There is air conditioning which was important in April. The rooms are very dark while the heavy wooden blinds are closed but this is very easily remedied by opening them (there is mosquito netting across the windows) Most people stay in Pakbeng for one...

The rooms where clean, but very small and dark. The bathroom was also small and did not look very clean and fresh. The breakfast was the worst I had in 4 weeks. No hot items, bread was old and coffee was horrible. For one night is ok but that's it.
