Had a wonderful stay at the hotel during the groet uit schoorl run. The hotel seemed super busy with heaps of the runners staying here, but they organised it really well. There was a dinner buffet for the runners, they messaged me on booking.com asking if I need it, guess they figured out I was attending the event by the booking dates. Love the initiative. The room is big and had a lovely view for he hotel garden. Staffs are professional, helpful and friendly.

The hotel is situated at a great location, just behind the hotel is the visitor center of the Schoorl dune area, with the point where all the hikes start. There is a great variety of hikes, with more forest routes, or sand dune routes. The hotel staff is friendly and really helpful. The rooms are great, and the beds are fabulous. When i go back to Schoorl i will stay at this hotel again for sure!

My boyfriend and me spend 2 nights in this hotel. We had a lovely stay. The room was very large and we had our own balcony, the only thing we didn’t like about the room were the 2 matrasses. The hotel is next to the forest so we went there to walk a few times. Our breakfast was great, they have a very big variety in the food. The dinner menu does not have a lot of options. Also the hotel does have a swimming pool which you can use for free, it isn’t a big one but you can spend some hours in it

Stayed here for a business trip. Late check in, friendly staff. Room was gigantic: 6 beds, large living room, terrace, bubble bath, etc. Breakfast normally starts at 7 am, but it was no problem to have an early sandwich. Even at 6:30 am! Unfortunately, no air con. Rooms a bit outdated and in need of modernization. Parking is €7,50 per day. But not much free parking spaces available, though.

Nice area even if hotel could use some renewal, small bathroom with bath and bad shower, room is rather big but bed was not great, and we had a double bed but they just move apart so you get a hole in the middle. Had some problems with the key card as it stopped working a few times. Nice and cozy bar on -1 level, breakfast is decent but a bit messy which could be due to that the hotel was quite full. Lots of parking space, wifi worked well. Check in/ out was quick and easy.

We stayed for 3 nights as part of a Netherlands touring holiday. We had 2 rooms, a family room for 4 and a twin in the attic. We were given rooms opposite each other which was appreciated. Having not stayed in a Fletcher hotel before we weren’t sure what to expect. The lobby and restaurant were very smart but sadly our rooms were dated and in need of a refurbishment. They were clean and had everything we needed but with some scuffs on the walls, a very dated bathroom (dark shower curtain and no light) it didn’t feel as special as maybe we had expected for the cost. Having read up beforehand I knew the family room had a kitchen that couldn’t be used - but there was a decent fridge provided which was a nice touch. Breakfast was included in our rate and there was a good range of food to keep everyone happy. We did visit the bar on 2 evenings, whilst it’s quiet and not staffed there were clear signs to call reception and a member of staff arrived straight away to serve us. The hotel is really well located to explore the dunes (the visitor centre is just out of the back of the hotel) and only a 10 minutes walk into Schoorl where there are several restaurants.

The room was very basic and a bit worn out. We only stayed one night for a minibreak and the following morning there was no hot water for a shower. Apparently the boiler was broken. Staff were pleasant and explained the problem but not particularly concerned that we had to leave the hotel without being able to wash in warm water nor keen to ensure we would return. We had a nice meal in the restaurant and it is well placed for dune and beach walking. Mwah.

We stayed in this hotel for one night as a stop on a long business trip through The Netherlands. I have heared good things about Fletcher Hotels before so we wanted to try it out, to potentially include more stays in Fletcher Hotels into our trip. After staying at the Jan van Scorel, we decided not to book with this hotel chain again, since they don't meet absolute minimum expectations of a 4 star hotel. The "comfort double room" we got was in the basement, it was dark and everything was very old and worn down. The bathtub had not only two black curly hairs in it, but also a lot of other dirt (no idea what that was), so we didn't even want to use it. Instead, we went to the pool area to take a shower in the morning. The toilet was also very dirty with hair and urine stains left on it - just disgusting!! All the doors in the built in kitchen were nailed up and not usable. Therefore we had to place some food that we had with us outside the window since there was also no refrigerator/ minibar. There were parts of the fabric of the bed ripped off and the wallpaper is coming down on some corners. When checking out, we were asked if everything was ok. I pointed out the condition of the room and was just told, that they are working on renovating some of them. Until this happens, I highly recommend not to rent this one to any other guests, since it will not be a pleasant stay for anyone who expects to get a 4 star standard. Besides it being old, this is anyway not an excuse for a lack of cleanliness.

Had our company xmas party here, nice little hotel, rooms are quite big but a bit old fashioned specialy the bathroom which is not very big. Bed is nice, wifi works well, very quite area, nice bar below with a pool table. We had a dinner in the resturant and the food was good, tasty and visualy nice. Breakfast is decent, choice was ok , more fresh fruit would be a nice add on. Overall a pleasant, short stay.

We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights with our dog. Later we heard that we were only allowed to eat in the lobby which is right next to the entrance. When asked about this the reaction was “didnt you get the house rules?” They also said that something went wrong as we had rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor and dogs were supposed to stay at the ground floor. We do not mind if dogs are not allowed but if you allow them then treat them accordingly. Also the room was quite dated with clear signs of wear so we asked for an upgrade. This room was slightly nicer but still very dark and 70s like. Our kids had a very nice room (107) and this appeared to be a room that had a fire so was recently refurbished. Finally when we wanted to play pool we could not put euros on the room nor pin them. The answer we got was “this is policy” and “you can go to town and use the atm, its a five minute walk only”. All in the staff was friendly but not very service oriented and helpfull. We dont understand that if you are in the hospitality business. We will not be back.

Responded 17 Nov 2017
Dear Mr./Mrs., Thank you for your review. In our hotel dogs are allowed in some of our hotel rooms, these rooms are on our ground floor. Due to hygiene rules regarding our carpet, dogs are not allowed on the other room types neither in our restaurant or bar. We are very sorry that these rules were not known by you before arriving in our hotel. Maybe you can let us know by e-mail where you made your reservation, so we can adjust the website by adding these rules? Our reception does not have an ATM available, therefore it is not possible to withdraw money. We regret the fact that you experienced our staff as not service oriented, this is absolutely not our policy. We hope you are willing to send us an e-mail with the website which is not showing our rules for dogs, to prevent unclear information to other guests. Thank you in advance.
