Used the Devonshire as a halfway house for a holiday in Cornwall. It was our second choice, but next time will be our first. The room was charming, with en-suite and flat-screen TV. We had a drink before dinner in the garden as the sun set. Then into dinner, the food was fabulous and the service great. The excellence continued...

Great food, fish beautiful, always same when we go. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice for special occasions. Not cheapest but get what you pay for. Had a Christmas function here and it was a really lovely evening.

My wife and i were enjoying a lovely Easter break in Ash, just down the road, when we came upon this place one evening. The food and service were top rate and we will return again next year. The village and local church were also lovely for a wander around.

Decided to stop here to break the bank holiday journey to Cornwall.... I normally do it in one but now I know this place exists, an overnight stay may become the norm! The room was lovely, beautifully done. We had a drink before dinner in the lovely bar and then I can't rate dinner highly enough. The food was absolutely...

Great customer service - wonderful selection and each course beautifully cooked and presented - wonderful wine selection and great staff all in very attractive surroundings. The chefs filo pastry was incredibly light, the pate in Madeira luscious, the lamb special was very tender and just fell apart and the desserts were yummy but exceptionally delicate. What more could you want?

We booked in here for a birthday meal, somewhere we could get a little done up & have some fab food. They couldn't of done more for us, all the staff are really friendly and the food was delicious, not overly expensive either! Will definitely return here! One of the best meals out we've had in a long time.

Stayed with my mother, we had a lovely spacious room. It was immaculately clean. Well designed and a great selection of teas/coffee. Most impressed. Lovely views over the green. Definitely stay there again. The evening meal was extremely good quality, delicious. Good menu choices.

Seven of us went on a Sunday evening and whilst it was quiet we had an excellent time. Everyone praised the meals and we had such a wide selection of starters and mains that you expected one choice to go down badly but not here. We were a noisy bunch so apologies to everyone who had to share the restaurant...

My wife and I visited for Sunday lunch after a visit to Haynes Motor Museum. Friendly, professional staff, well kept beer nice to see a really good NZ Sauvignon by the glass. Both had roast rib of beef, very good lots of lovely veg, excellent gravy but roast pots could have been a bit crisper! Will return ASAP!
