Jane and me have been Moto Guzzi owners and enthusiasts for over 40 years and for a long time had wanted to pay Mandello and its Museum both a visit and a tribute, test those secondary roads on our own, and walk the pathways in that breathtaking landscape. However, we never expected we would meet such authentic types like Gianni...

Travelling solo in March 2014 I was fortunate enough to find Antica Officina b n b.and book it on the internet. Arriving straight from Queensland Australia i was welcomed by Gechi and his wife Nena and settled in to recover from the long trip. How lucky was i to chance upon Gechi' b&b. The property was spotless, the people friendly,...

Our family visited a couple of years back and we absolutely loved it. The B&B is a lovely place just around the corner from the main square in Mandello. The breakfast has a nice line of pastries from the local bakery. Mandello itself is beautiful and a more off-the-beaten-track location than the likes of Bellagio, which we much preferred. Plus,...

It is very close to everything! Gechi and Nena are wonderful people! Nena's son Thiago is a very warm hospitable person. The only thing I didn't like was the shower. Thiago sent me some pictures of the exact room we stayed in with a newly remodeled bathroom! It looks really nice. So that explains the 4 dots review. We fell...

The prototype of the very first Moto Guzzi was created here in 1919 in a little workshop which is preserved by your host Jackie who is perhaps the nicest and funniest man in Italy. A fantastic and accommodating host he is a wonderful ambassador for his town. His wife Nena makes some very beautiful sewing items which make great handmade...

As part of our honeymoon we wanted to visit Lake Como for a few days and after a bit of internet searching we came across this B & B in a small town nestled on the banks of Como. It is run by Gianni (known by many as Jacky) and his wife Nena, with Gianni and his family living In...

My husband and I stayed at Antica Officina last year. Gianni was a perfect host, I was suffering from a bad case of jet lag, and Gianni took my husband on a personal tour of the city. We had nothing but an awesome time the whole time we stayed here. We were treated like one of the family. If you...

I stayed at Antica Officina last year and I think I was their worst guest. I arrived late, unannounced but Gianni, Nena and Rodrigo made me feel at home. The location is a Moto Guzzi enthusiasts dream, close to the factory and museum. The rooms are very comfortable and the courtyard and cantina are perfect for chatting with Gianni and...

My friend and I went to Lake Como last weekend and stayed at Antica Officina B&B. It was my first time in Italy and she'd been there only once previously, so neither of us really knew what to expect in Mandello. From the start, Gianni was great with communication -- he gave us advice on traveling to Mandello and even...

After trawling the net for somewhere to stay on Lake Como I found this. Antica Officina is exactly the sort of place I want to stay when I visit Italy, the B&B is shared by Gianni and his wife Nena (who is Brazilian), their son and Gianni's sister and parents. On the second night Gianni organised for us to go...

“If you are travelling by train, it is easier to catch the train to Lecco as Johnny T will pick you up at the train station there, It was very easy to get on the wrong train due to language problems but it was very easy to get back on track but with all the stops between Lecco and Mandello del Lario, It would have been faster and easier not to mention enjoying the view along the road, to be picked up in Lecco”
