We stayed in a superior room because the standard rooms were booked out. It was way overpriced (as with everything in this area), but was perfectly comfortable and the views from the balcony (we were on the upstairs floor) were really nice. Our main complaint here was that the staff, particularly in the restaurant, were extremely rude. They also made...

The food here is great, and cheap! You can get any rice/noodle dish for around £1.50 - and the portions are one of the best I've seen in Indonesia. The poor service doesn't really retract from us eating here multiple times. You have to grab your own menus and stand at the bar for ages until you are acknowledged. But...

This hostel is overpriced for what it offers. Rooms are very basic and old, at least the one where we stayed. In another part of Java you would pay 15 euros for that room. What you pay is of course the location. If you want to go to Bromo (and you should go cause its breathtaking!) there are not so...

We spend one night in Cafe Lava. Located close before the park entrance on the mainroad. The room was big, clean, and there's water heater. In front of the hotel, there's a restaurant so I just need to walk. Staff is friendly and always ready to help. Unfortunately there's no wifi in the room.

We stood two nights in Cafe Lava. You cannot compare the prices in Cemoro Lawang with other accomodations in Indonesia. Every tourist visits the Bromo on his East-Java tour. Sometimes it´s difficult to get a room (weekends and indonesian holidays). So the hotels and homestays take what they can earn. 1. Located close before the park entrance on the mainroad,...

Conveniently located for Mount Bromo within a 15 minute drive on the way back for us. We only stayed for one night, but served the purpose as outlined above. The hotel is rustic, but nevertheless our room was clean and of a reasonable size. Usual type of wet room for this part of the world, but at least the water...

The hostel provides many types of room. We have got Family room - the room itself is basic but they have Mini bar and private hot shower (Some places have shared bathroom). Breakfast is from 7.00-9.30AM. But you can ask them to pack in boxes if you think you would come down from the mountain late. Wifi only provided at...

We don't tend to stay in hostels and were rather nervous about our visit to Cafe Lava, which was booked by a local tour operator who arranged our visit to Bromo. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was more than acceptable, not the cleanest but nothing to lose sleep over. Hot water, clean bedsheets, one of the best locations to...

My boyfriend and I stayed in a standard room and paid 400,000 idr for two nights which included breakfast. Initially we were brought into a room that had a strong smell, that quite frankly, we just couldn't get used to. The staff accommodated our request to switch rooms. I had read lots of reviews and had basic expectations--I knew this...
