This small country hotel is delightful. Our room was beautifully appointed, had a large bay window with amazing views across Exmoor, and a 4 poster bed with very comfortable pillows and bed linen. The food was varied and delicious using local produce. Jane was an excellent host and provided us with local walk ideas tailored to our particular needs. Our...

We arrived having walked over Dunkery Beacon from Withypool on a beautiful day and were greeted warmly by Jane. We had drinks outside in the sunshine before being shown to our ground floor suite which was doggy friendly. Unfortunately we stayed in a Monday so the restaurant was closed so we ordered in a takeaway. The breakfast was delicious and...

Just five minutes from Dunster, Dunkery Beacon Country House Hotel offers top class accommodation, superb food and a friendly welcome. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the beds are top quality and the rooms have everything you need to make for a comfortable stay. Visited with my wife and couldn't fault it as a modern B&B with a touch of class. Room was excellent with very comfortable bed and high end finish with a stunning view and LCD tv and good wifi reception. Jane was very welcoming and John cooked a lovely full English or whatever you prefer. Highly recommend

We had picked the ground floor room/suite. The room was tastefully decorated without being full of clutter or too bare. The small en-suite had a shower (no bath), and there was a small sitting room as well. We enjoyed the tea/coffee facilities, and a fantastic view from the windows. We spend quite some time in the lovely lounge in front...

Fabulous food, warm welcome and great people - had a fantastic Xmas break! Room was well appointed, and very comfortable. The highlight - if I had to pick one - was the quality of the food - a huge unexpected bonus! Went for the walking possibilities which were great - will be returning.....

Thank you for taking time to post such a lovely review and thank you for joining us this Christmas. It is very rewarding to hear that our guests expectations have been exceeded and recognition of our use of locally sourced produce cooked with great passion is very much appreciated. Exmoor, particularly in Spring and Autumn, is a fantastic place to...

Booked for a three night DB&B over Christmas which proved a delightful vacation. John's cooking is imaginative and very moorish and the dining ambiance is truly lovely. Front of house is efficiently overseen by Jane ably assisted by Monica. It is amazing that just three folks can provide this excellent hospitality which is only achieved by hard work, good organisation...

Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad you were both able to relax and enjoy our hospitality and the company of your fellow guests. Jane's eye for detail and styling has really paid off with the restaurants atmosphere and really sets the tone for the food and wine on our menus. Have a Happy New Year, we look...

We have never been away at Christmas before and both of us thoroughly enjoyed being looked after and we found the whole experience very peaceful and relaxing. Well done John, Jane and Monica. This was our third visit to Dunkery Beacon. It was a present to ourselves. The evening meal was fabulous. It just gets better. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟We didn't think you could improve on perfection, but apparently John you can. Top notch. Jane and John are wonderful hosts. Can't wait for our next visit.

Just spent 2 nights at this wonderful Edwardian Country house, everywhere you look, you are immersed in great quality. The ambience is astounding. The owners are lovely, but the person who really stood out, is Monika, the back bone of the establishment, I cannot fault her kindness and genuine personality. As mentioned with other guests, the food is superb, using all...

It is always a difficult decision finding and training the right people to join our small team here at the hotel, but thank you for recognizing that we made the right choice with Monika. She is a real asset to the business. Thank you also for recognizing the little touches, such as John's homemade shortbread and Jane's attention to detail...
