A delightful country hotel. My partner, who is disabled, enjoyed room 5 on the ground floor. This room had the benefit of a separate sitting room from the bedroom. The food was very good and the owners and staff were very attentive and obliging. I would recommend a stay at this hotel. It might help other travellers to mention that...

We're very glad you and your partner enjoyed your stay with us and that our ground floor letting room was suitable for your requirements. We're also delighted you chose to dine with us over...

Just the nicest guest house I have stayed in - the rooms are comfortable and spotless, the location is great for walking and discovering Exmoor, and the owners are extremely pleasant and helpful. The food is excellent and you can take a packed lunch if you are out for the day. Very peaceful and relaxing - we wish we could...

We're so pleased you enjoyed your first visit to Dunkery Beacon Country House and were able to make the most of the peace, tranquility and beautiful countryside that surrounds us. John and I are delighted you enjoyed our food as well - breakfast, dinner plus packed lunches - and had a comfortable stay in one of our top floor rooms...

What a wonderful hotel set in such a superb location . The owners were so nice and the food was at a level that would put many so called elite hotels to shame . The room had a fantastic view overlooking open countryside and and was simply stunning (10). Would highly recommend and I can see why this is voted...

It was great to have you both to stay and thank you very much for posting such a kind review. John is very pleased you thought the food he produces was top notch and we're both delighted you loved your four poster room with views out of the bay window to die for! Hope you'll be back for a return...

It has taken us a couple of weeks to get round to writing a review, but now the schools have gone back and here it is! As parents in a busy family, sometimes it feels there is little time to really call your own and properly take time out. When we do get to take time it is so important...

We are just home today, having spent three nights at the Dunkery Beacon which is in the most beautiful and peaceful location. The last time we visited was five years ago and the improvements that John and Jane have made enhanced the pleasure of our stay enormously. The refurbishment is tasteful, beautiful, comfortable and charming and everywhere was spotlessly clean....

This is a small friendly hotel in a stunning location and ideal if you want peace and quiet with views which include being able to view red deer from the hotel lounge or veranda. Hospitality from owners John and Jane was first class but not intrusive. The website descriptions are an accurate representation of the hotel. Everything is very clean...

Thank you very much for your kind review and we're delighted you and your parents enjoyed your stay - you certainly had fantastic weather and there is nothing better than sitting on our veranda with a cuppa and gazing out across the countryside, as you discovered! We hope you'll visit us again in the future. Kind regards, Jane & John

Our room was very clean, beds excellent, view from our windows breathtaking, food (we stayed DB&B) good (only complaint, a small piece of breakfast bacon over-cooked) "Staff" could not be more helpful. Would recomend this hotel very highly, a bit off the beaten track, which adds to its wonderful charm.

It's difficult to imagine a better hotel experience than sitting in your room around midnight, looking out over night-black meadows and hills, while above millions of stars twinkle away; and to cap it all you've caught sight of eleven or twelve shooting stars. John and Jane are the ideal hosts, in that they think like their guests and work hard...

Thank you for taking time to post a review. You would not believe the small fortune we had to spend arranging those shooting stars! I think Vic and Bob would have been cheaper. We're just glad you had the opportunity to experience the Persied Meteor shower and what better place than the International Dark Sky Reserve of Exmoor. Maybe on...
