This was my first trip to Belize, and I wouldn't change a thing . . . especially the three night stay we had on Southwater Caye at Pelican Beach. The setting is nothing short of paradise, and the staff are thoughtful and attentive. Theresita, Leonard, Ashanti, Alton and the rest will make you feel like it's your private island. The...

We love the PBR! It's a small, quiet island with great snorkeling right off the beach with the option of top notch snorkeling and diving excursions arranged by the lodge. The staff are wonderful and friendly, and the food is wonderful too (lots of local seafood). This was my second visit and hope to return again. One tip is to...

A great island hideaway. Wifi in the main lounge/eating area, but not in the individual cabins, which lets you really detach and enjoy your vacation. There are plenty of hammocks both at the cabins and down on the beach. Snorkeling right off the beach we saw numerous tropical fish, rays, an eel, and even an octopus during the night snorkel...

We were here just to relax and snorkel the week after Thanksgiving. Beautiful place. Our accommodations were clean and comfortable. We had hammocks on our porch and hammocks all over the beach. It was very quiet with few travelers to share the beach. Snorkeling right in front of the beach was quite good. We took three boat snorkeling trips to...

We enjoyed our 3 days here in Heron's Hideaway. Very peaceful, beautiful views, relaxing in the hammocks that are everywhere. Our cottage was very clean and private. Loved seeing the weather come in, the sunsets and osprey flying by. Ashanti was the perfect host. Meals were all excellent fresh local cuisine. Ritchie did a great job getting us to and...

Wow! This place was amazing! It is a 30-45 minute boat ride to get out to this remote caye. Once there there are a small number of rooms. Each day breakfast, lunch and dinner are served and they are delicious. There are kayaks and paddle boards for your use and the offer a number of different snorkeling trips. The rooms...

Pelican Beach Resort in Dangriga owns the southern portion of this 15-acre island, and their part includes the only good sandy beach. The resort consists of several mostly duplex cabins set amongst the coconut palms, so you're "in the trees" with an ocean view beyond. Meals are served in a separate stand-alone lodge, prepared by the staff skilled in Belizean...

We are a family of 3 and stayed 4 days at this island resort. What a wonderful place to enjoy the island relaxation and the water activities. We had "snorkeling guides" available for morning and afternoon adventures to the reef - the resort is within swimming distance to the reef. You can do as little or as much as you...

It was amazing privilege to stay on South Water Caye. The island is just beautiful - white sand beaches and the bluest sea you've ever seen, with hammocks strewn around in shady spots. OK, the accommodation is pretty tired and the whole place could do with a bit of a refurb, but that is really part of the charm -...

Thanks for taking the time for the review! It's been a bit busy and we've focused on the guests not the buildings. Sorry about that - we're doing lots of refinishing over the next few months!

And our 6th stay at Pelican Beach on South Water Caye proves it. My husband and I agree (after over 40 years together) that nothing puts us more in honeymoon mode than vacation time here. It's pure bliss to snorkel together, discovering nature's wonders together, hanging out in hammocks, watching birds or the sun rising or setting, strolling under the...
