Bad experience

I called three weeks before my trip there and requested a sea facing room and was promised that I would be given one. When I reached there they said it was no longer available since they had given it away to somebody else. It would have been ok if they had been truly apologetic but they were completely unconcerned and uncaring. We are Senior citizens and I have problems with my legs so walking to the back of the hotel was a problem for me and hence I requested the sea facing room which was closer to the beach. But they had no respect for my problem. Seniors and disabled should not be treated thus.

Snorkel from the beach in front of hotel

Location away from the harbour. Best get a horse and cart as paths are too sandy. Staff great and friendly. Rooms comfortable with outdoor shower. Pool quiet down back which is where our room was. Breakfast was great, fruit and eggs a few ways. Was the better side of Gili whilst we stayed. Great snorkeling out front, but hire a boat for private trip great value

Good location

Located 1.2km from the arrival spot. I walked to the hotel as I did not want to support using a horse cart because I have read many negative reviews. Besides, they are super expensive. The Manager Rins/Lins? and the staff are all friendly and very helpful. Straight forward check in. My double room with garden view was excellent. Modern looking and clean. Everything worked fine except for the TV. It had to be replaced but I was left with no working TV. This was very disappointing as I travel solo and my number 1 priority is booking rooms with a TV. My stay was only for 1 night so I persevered. Lighting throughout was very good. The bathroom was a good size. It was so good to have a nice hot shower. I did not use the pool but it appeared to be well maintained. I paid for my omelet breakfast which was your basic serving. I did not feel it was worth the cost but everything is more expensive on the Gili islands. They have bicycles for rent which is the preferred transport around the island. Big thank you to the staff for transporting my suitcase to the pier. Apart from my TV issue this was an excellent hotel to stay at an affordable price.…

Rewelacyjne miejsce na rodzinny pobyt

hotel located in a beautiful place by the beach, very nice garden and practical swimming pool. quiet and peaceful, the perfect place for a family outing. we had a sea view bungalow.very clean. the service is nice and very helpful. delicious breakfasts and kitchen several times we had the opportunity to eat different dishes and everything was sensational.

Best place to stay in Gili Air

We loved our stay at Kaluku. The staff were so friendly and helpful and really looked after us. Great location right on the beach and on a nice vibey part of the island. The restaurant is really great and we enjoyed every meal we had there. Having breakfast right on the beach every morning is such a treat. You can hire SUP’s and snorkelling gear from the front desk and there is an amazing reef right by the hotel to see some amazing fish and maybe some turtles if you’re lucky. The rooms were great. Really nice and neat and the walk in closet with make up mirror was a great surprise. We also loved the outdoor bathroom. Wi-Fi was also very fast. Nice pool with loungers to escape the heat. You can book day trips and bikes etc from the stand next door to the hotel and there is a dive centre on the other side so you really have everything you need right there. Would definitely recommend staying here & can’t wait to come back next time we get the opportunity to visit Gili Air. …

Highly recommended

We spent 4 nights at Kaluku and it was our best choice to stay at this hotel. I think everybody in Indonesia is very kind, but Kaluku team was extremly nice all the time. It made us feel very comfy there. The room itself was always clean, the food is really good at the hotel's restaurant, we had most of our meals there. It was convinient and totally worth it. We tried many things from the menu, all was really tasty. The meals next to the water is amazing - by the way the restaurant itself is a sunrise spot as well.:) I highly recommend this place for staying - it's clean, calm, has nice garden, delicious food and amazing staff. I really hope we have the chance to visit Gili Air and Kaluku again! Thank you so much!

Excellent Gili Air Resort with house reef!

We spent a week here at the start of a longer trip through Indonesia. Our accommodation was one of the poolside rooms in the back of the property. The room was exactly what we needed after sun filled days diving and exploring the island. Air conditioning was strong and kept the room a comfortable temperature even when it was very hot outside. The bathroom had a great rain shower and room to hang up swimwear and dive gear. They also supplied a kettle for coffee/tea/cup noodles, and a mini fridge to keep drinks and leftovers cold. The room also had a spacious porch area for lounging and storage of gear. The team running the resort currently were very friendly and helpful with all of our requests. The breakfast was large, and there were options to change it up if you stayed a while. Beer at the bar was cold and the WIFI was strong. The kitchen also had offerings for lunch or dinner. Off the beach was a very good house reef with an easy entry when the tide was high. This would be an excellent place to teach snorkeling to a novice, but still kept our attention with excellent fish and corals. We will definitely return as we had a great experience.…

Happy Home in Gili Air

We loved Kaluka! We did a random search online and liked the look of this property for a 2 day affordable escape from Covid. The island is very quiet right now but this part of the island had a fun little vibe and close to the beach with the most spectacular sunsets. We stayed in a ‘sea bungalow room’ which was large and had the typical bali style outdoor bathroom. The rooms had everything needed for a weekend stay. The shared pool was a great size and there was even a little outdoor area to do yoga. Kaluka also make bikes available. The breakfast was good enough to start the day. I would definitely stay here again and as the borders are not yet open, more trips to Gili are on the cards.

Highlight of my Indo trip

Kaluku is beautiful, quiet, clean, relaxing, family friendly with wonderful staff & a truly amazing breakfast! I highly recommend this place :) We loved the freedom of riding bikes around the island. Be sure to enjoy snorkelling with turtles, beachside cocktails while soaking up sunset on the west coast & Pachamama for the most amazing meal!

Ready for renovation

We visited Kaluku Gili Resort for two nights looking for a bit more luxorious accomodation. The staff was friendly, the locatie good. The rooms though were a bit damp and smelled moldy. The shower/bathroom needed to be renovated. The outside area was nice and private, the pool clean! The sunbeds and beach umbrella’s were all broken..
