The only thing good about this hotel is its location. The front desk agents are very unprofessional and rude especially to Filipinos like me. Some staff told me that they don't like Filipinos because according to them, we are noisy and dirty. For your info, not all Filipinos like to party and sing karaoke! They kept on asking me if I'm going to have a party at the hotel room and I already told them NO a few weeks ago. Is it really unbelievable that I just want to spend time with my family? Just because I'm a filipino, you guys automatically assumed that I like to party? Is that the reason why even during check-in, the guy asked me for the 5th time if there is a party and still would not believe me when I said NO? Don't be a racist please! If you don't like us to check-in at your hotel, why not ban all of us so you can save us the trouble of booking this outdated and dirty hotel? Lastly, the room is not that clean. The sofa bed is dirty. Blankets and pillows have holes. Amenities are insufficient for a family of 5. They provided 3pairs of slippers and 1 tiny bottle of lotion for 5pax. Shampoo and shower gel are almost empty even before we use it. We paid HKD922.00 for one night. So it's really a terrible mistake that I chose this hotel. …
Just for a one night, located in near to the down town. If you are traveler I think this place is perfect. Room is small but I like it and I enjoyed complimentary coffee in the room. See you next time
The room I had was like the one of one of the previous reviewer. My view was of a wall. The breakfast not great. OJ was dreadful. Staff mixed. Jack and the doorman were lovely. Friendly, helpful and they smiled. Some of the others behaved as if were being a nuisance when I just had a simple enquiry. One seemed more concerned with what was going on elsewhere and hardly made any eye contact whatsoever. The one big plus is the location. It’s a short walk to St Paul’s ruins and a quite a few casinos like the Lisboa, Grand Lisboa and Wynn. If you have to stay there, these are my top tips. 1) ignore what it says on their website about WiFi. They do have WiFi and it’s not bad. 2) they have a shuttle bus to the ferry port that leaves every hour. I was just lucky to find that out as this information is on a screen in reception but it is only on there for a short while before it changes 3) have breakfast outside…
I was given a dated room at 0410, no view and totally blocked by a wall and the next building.Noticed some of their rooms were newly refurbished when we happened to pass by while housekeeper was cleaning up the rooms. They do provide shuttle bus service to outer harbour, border gate & HKZM bridge at an hourly timing. Let the staff knows where you're going and they will inform the driver. Don't think the driver can understand English. Hotel centrally located which was a plus point during our stay. Out of the hotel turn left, about 5 mins walk to HSBC, cross the road and walk along ColourMix shop you will get to see the famous" CHAN KONG KEI ROASTED DUCK" and opposite of chan kong kei, take the alley next to ICBC, you will get to taste the famous "MARGARET EGGTARTS".There's also a 24 hours convenience store nearby hotel, turned right and takes you about 2mins walk. If you're looking for a good location hotel, this is the one! …
On my Hong Kong trip in September 2019, my friend and I were in Hong Kong for four nights and decided to go to Macau for a night before returning home. Metropole Hotel is a very nice hotel. The room was clean and although small, we did not feel crowded. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the ruins of St. Paul. With the heat and humidity it took a bit longer to get there. We were close to the shopping and restaurant area, which was convenient. Also in the walking range from the hotel were some of the casinos like Grand Lisboa, Wynn, MGM and Casino Lisboa. Macau has street signs in Cantonese and Portuguese and some of the city architecture has the colonial Portuguese look. Metropole Hotel is definitely worth another visit when I go back to Macau.
